Two of my top 3 OL targets gone on one day. Damn.

For me now Jawaan Taylor becomes a major target...he is a guy with the size at 6-5" 313lbs, length with 35 1/2" arms & athletic profile I can see them valuing very highly to solidify the RT spot then it allows us to draft a centre and possibly a left guard depending on how they view Whitehair and his cap figure moving forward....Taylor wouldn't turn 26 years old until the end of November next season but already has 64 career starts under his belt so age, experience & durability are other strengths that will appeal to Poles & co.

Brutal timing for Steele as he will be a RFA this offseason…does however make it interesting as to what they will do with him moving forward…could be a potential target of ours with a long term view in mind where as Dallas are in win now mode.

Thinking about this injury made me re-think the FA class. Without Steele, Conklin, and Jenkins the OT class has a big drop. This is in large part because I think Brown gets a ridiculous overpay too. Kaleb McGary is my top RT prospect ATM but he won't hit the market. He'd have to be a big part of a trade up to pry from ATL. McGlinchey is probably the top actually available option in FA.

Might have to look at a cut for a serious upgrade though, or maybe swapping picks to get someone. Taylor Lewan seems like an obvious cut due to injuries, maybe Tyron Smith is a potential trade target because of his pay and injury history (especially if Steele is healing well and they want to look at him long-term or they want to try to bring back Pollard and Schultz). Donovan Smith may be cut because he is a 2024 FA and with Brady likely leaving they want his contract off the books (apparently he has been crap this year though?), Jets may be willing to throw Mekhi Becton on a trade just to get him off the books. Hell Bak might get cut if GB wants to blow up their 2023 season by shipping Rodgers and cutting him.

Jawaan Taylor is a good enough athlete I guess but has he at least become more consistent? I love how mean he was at FLA but is he going to be worth a big deal? IDK.

I don’t hate the idea of trading for Jerry Jeudy this offseason (at the right price). Denver is a disaster and is short picks after the Russ trade, plus they already paid Sutton and Tim Patrick at WR. Jeudy has 2 more years of control with the 5th year option, and will be just 24 next season. Is he a sure fire 1? No. Is he a pretty solid 2 with 1 upside, size and explosiveness? Yeah, I think he is. Jeudy, Mooney and Claypool gives you 3 real, professional WRs who can all make plays.

It’s not my first choice, but with some limited options at WR I like it a lot better than some of the others.

I would be open to trading for a guy like Jeudy/DJ Moore/Mike Evand or the one I really like in Dre Hopkins who I think would massively help with the development of Fields like he did with Watson…would much prefer it be for a 2024 draft pick though since we need to put as much talent as we can around Fields next year while also rebuilding the front 7 on defence.

I could see a scenario where we trade a 2023 pick and a 2024 1st for a WR (post-trade down), but we’re gonna have to give up something in 2023 to make a trade for a noteworthy guy like those guys.

I’m not so sure…I think we could even look at a trade after the draft because you know some players will be unhappy that teams have drafted their replacement…bottom line is the NFL is so unpredictable now you just never know…especially given the resources we have…tons of options.

I actually wouldn't mind trading for either Michael Thomas or Deandre Hopkins after June 1st. NO is in their normal cap hell and I think Kingsbury might be booted. NO needs to do what Poles did this year and quit aiming for mediocrity, just pull off the bandaid. Post June 1st makes it MUCH easier for them to swallow the dead cap and should make it a cheaper deal for us. We would be trading a 2024 pick too, so we can still use the full slew of early round picks we might be able to get if we trade back.

I would stay far away from Thomas he hasn't been healthy in three years, while only playing in 10 games those three years. Hopkins I definitely would look at, his play after the suspension seems to be on par with his normal play. I would just prefer to not give up any of this years draft picks for players.

Thomas would definitely be a later pick for the exact reasons you mentioned. Like swapping picks in the same round or no better than a 4th. If healthy he's thr best WR we have had since BMarsh. But health is obviously the concern.

No way I move any of our picks besides a swap or something, and the 1st is out of the question. It would be post June 1st just because that's the only way either team could even feasibly move them anyway.

Jenkins, Conklin, Watt all off the market in a matter a days. What a kick in the nuts that is.

I don't think Watt would have been an ideal target given his age. I doubt if Poles would sign someone getting ready to be 34 at this point.

I don’t see why not. He’s not 2015 JJ anymore but he’s still a damn good player and probably has a couple more good years in the tank. They have the money and he’d be a great leader for a young Dline. Would have been a good fit.
