I think it's time to start including Joe Burrow as a Top 3 NFL QB.

  1. 1. Where does Joe Burrow rank as a QB right now?

So, once again, what do you know that Zac Taylor does to make his offense what it is today, independent of the insanely talented players? If you hit me with more appeal to authority crap, I’m going to continue laughing and move on.

There are plenty of articles that provide a nuanced breakdown. Notice how none devolve into "Zach Taylor is stupid".

Not to mention YouTube clips. I think it's kind of weird that you keep demanding things of me when you can go do the research yourself.

Going to guess you didn’t read those, lol. Keep it rolling, Zac Jr. Your second article even referenced exactly what I said earlier - it took the Bengals offense half a season to play against a cover 2 (and they still struggle aren’t themselves when the defense goes heavy with it). Offensive line shifts are hardly a Zac Taylor staple LOL.

Yes but all the offenses in the NFL are down this year due to increased use and efficiency of cover-2 by defenses. It's a league-wide trend, hardly something specific to Zach Taylor offenses.

Justin Herbert is not kinda overrated; he is the single most overrated QB in the league right now and it's not even close. Having a down year despite LAC going all in this season and looks to miss the playoffs AGAIN.

Top five rn is Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Hurts and Tua.

Because of less than half a season?

not having Geno Smith, who is statistically superior in every way to Burrow, in the top 5 while including Burrow in a post about how Justin Herbert is actually the most overrated QB in the NFL and it's not even close is quite funny, though.

Burrow is second and third in touchdowns and passing yards respectively. Geno is clearly a product of Pete Carrol's system.

Get back with me when Herbert wins something that actually matters.

And that somehow doesn't make him a top 5 QB this year? I posted this before but:

Passing Advanced Passing
Rk Player Year QBrec Att Cmp% Y/A+ NY/A+ AY/A+ ANY/A+ Cmp%+ TD%+ Int%+ Sack%+ Rate+
1 Joe Burrow 2022 9-4-0 473 68.1 116 113 118 115 115 116 107 96 118
2 Geno Smith 2022 7-6-0 428 71.5 122 114 122 116 131 117 108 93 125

You can say it's an outlier or he's a product of the system, but he's also straight up an elite QB this year who isn't game managing, he's making every throw imaginable.

It's really not even close.

Their numbers are comparable this season. But given the history of both of them respectively. There's more of a baseline of success for Joe Burrow and more one of failure for Geno Smith. Maybe Geno Smith has actually become that guy, but I need him to keep showing that for me to believe in him at that kind of level given his history.

Well then I guess it really comes down to whether the question of this thread is top 3 QB's right now or top 3 QB's moving forward. Good thing we have that answer:

Based on this season so far I'd go
