Week 15: Detroit Lions (6-7) @ NY Jets (7-6)

The Lions offense isn't going to roll like they did over Minnesota. The test is going to be if they can come up with the clutch drives in the 3rd or 4th quarter they need to win.

I stick by what I said last week though - who do the Jets key on? Do they try to take away ARSB? Who does Sauce cover? He doesn't play in the slot. Do they load up against the run, or play light boxes and commit more to coverage?

What I saw from the Lions last week reminded me of something I once heard a member of the San Diego Chargers say after they lost to the 49ers in Super Bowl XXIX - "you go in preparing and working to stop everything, and you end up stopping nothing." The Lions aren't on that level, of course, but they're getting up there. This is another step toward that level.

I think this will be a tight game and the Lions won't be able to pull away, even with Wilson starting, even with Quinnen out or only at 50%. But I believe they can make the important drive late in the game to get it done.

Lions 23, Jets 16

I always love reading the other teams board before the game. It's always the same thing... 1. Goff is below average, easy to defend, not seeing the career year he's having since week 8. 2. Detroit has no star WR, discounting our 3rd/4th WR is putting up better numbers than their 2nd/3rd. 3. Defense is worst in the league, completely discounting their top ten defense the last 7 weeks. It's fun watching them figure out how they lost to THAT team.

Which is funny because now we're getting all of these talking heads on national media talking about the Lions in a positive way. Those people still talk about Goff as if he's worse than Geno Smith (he's not).

Lions Elevated LB Jarrad Davis, QB Josh Dobbs, and RB Craig Reynolds to the active roster and waived WR Tom Kennedy. I'm not shocked they waived Kennedy with Jamo back. With Barnes ruled out, I understand elevating Davis. Putting a 3rd QB on the active roster intrigues me. Dobbs is mobile and could maybe be used to a trick play scenario?

Someone on Twitter claimed the Lions haven't played any good teams, despite them playing the two best divisions in football this season.

When the Lions win today, they'll be 4-4 against those best divisions and currently 3-1 in our own division (5-1 incoming?). That is much better than most of us anticipated.

How much action do you think Jameson Williams will get today? Trying to decide if he's worth a flier as my WR3 over Diontae today...

I think they'll take a few deep shots, but those will probably be split between Williams and Chark depending on how the Jets defend both players.
