Lol how? I feel like we’d fare much better against a run centric team like TEN in the 1st round rather than the Dolphins or Chargers who would come out and throw it 40+ times against our underwhelming secondary. And it’s the NFL playoffs. Upsets happen all the time - i’m sure a bunch of other teams in 2019 thought they’d have to “beat us at some point anyway” because we were the best team that year...until they didn’t because Tennessee upset us. Maybe Buffalo or KC gets upset in the first round this year and we wouldn’t have to play them at all. I get your point and logic, but disagree with the strategy. I’d rather take Miami or the Chargers. Give me the west coast team traveling to the East coast at our home with a QB. Give me the Dolphins team that we had on the ropes. Give me two fresh coaches and young QBs without any playoff experience to their credit that could see themselves overwhelmed by a playoff atmosphere. I’ll take that over playoff Henry and Vrabel that are going to play loose and free and creative. They have a good understanding of what we like to do and great success with stopping superior versions of what we bring to the table. Do we matchup, sure, but they matchup well with us too. I’d rather sick them on other highly capable options and hope they offer the upset.

I think you’re placing too heavy of an emphasis on historical matchups and not giving enough credence to how those teams are playing as it stands in 2022. To me the 2022 Dolphins and Chargers could easily drop 30 on us if our secondary plays poorly. I don’t see that potential against the 2022 Titans. Andrew’s has had his biggest season when we got Williams and Likely’s receiving skills have translated. Whether that’s attributable to the TEs coach or Williams, I have no idea. Directly from the Ravens' team page: Quote KEITH WILLIAMS is in his second season as the team's pass game specialist, working closely with WRs coach Tee Martin in mentoring the Ravens' wide receivers. Tee Martin is in his second season as the Ravens' wide receivers coach after spending 15 years coaching primarily in the collegiate ranks. Keith Williams is our pass game specialist and works with our WR's, who have notably all done absolutely nothing. Proche can't even line up. Half the time these guys have no clue about spacing or running routes or setting picks or doing literally anything. Like, what exactly are these guys providing this team after 2 years? Oh, Mark Andrews (a TE) continued to improve for one year? Marquise Brown (who was already talented) had a career season? Okay, we're one year removed from that and literally none of our homegrown WR's have done a thing. It's infuriating watching our passing game and watching our WR's run awful routes and have awful spacing and knowing we brought in two guys SPECIFICALLY to work on these things and I haven't seen a lick of improvement after almost 2 years. It has more to do with the wide receivers just not being good. The high draft picks we spent (Hollywood and Bateman) aren't on the field/team. The guys who get significant snaps here can't get snaps on other offenses, despite how much they complain about the system holding them back. The spacing is the Roman scheme, in my estimation. Surely they're not that bad to where we can't even coach them to line up (Proche) or do the most basic things guys do. Heck, even Chris Moore likes a WR3 on the freaking Texans right now... I am of the opinion that our coaching is just trash.
SalvadorsDeli
Keith Williams' job/role always struck me as basically being fake tbh. He was hired after the Buffalo divisional game as basically a PR move because after that game even the national media was noticing just how crappy Roman's passing scheme is and questions were being asked about whether Harbaugh was going to make any hires from the college ranks, etc. to freshen up the scheme. Harbaugh needed to make some sort of hire to prove he was doing something while functionally doing as little as possible to interfere with Roman's control over the offense. Great gig for Williams because he got to go from basically being a personal trainer for hire to having an important sounding NFL job title and good for Harbaugh and Roman that no new perspective was actually brought in. Blaming him for any of our problems is even more misplaced than making it all about Roman and ignoring how and why he's been able to oversee the decline of this offense in the first place. I'm not blaming him for our problems, per-se, just questioning wtf he does and why we need to spend money on him lol
