Just shut him down for the rest of the year, its not like we'll do anything if we fall *** backwards into the playoffs anyways. He and the team need to seriously start thinking about his long term wellbeing.Β

Its incredible man, dude just continuously gets folded like a pretzel. I've never quite seen anything like it. You'd think someone who has been spent their whole life as a QB would know how to brace themselves or how to take a hit to minimize the damage. How often do Mahomes, Brady, Rodgers, etc. take hits like Tua? Rarely if ever

It appears he may have concussed, so that likely played a major role. Dolphins have put him in concussion protocol. Hopefully Tua is alright. This would be his 3rd concussion just this season.Β

Yeah, that's almost surely what the issue is with the jeckyll and hyde routine on Christmas.Β  I better the numbers before that play versus the numbers after that play are staggering.Β Β

Before the supposed concussion; 9/12, 229 yards, 1/0 TD/IntΒ

After the supposed concussion; 7/13, 81 yards, 0/3 TD/IntΒ

The thing about concussions is there's not a whole heck of a lot one can do to brace their brain from bouncing off their skull. Concussions can occur without the head even contacting a surface. A whiplash motion could bounce the brain off the skull pretty easily. The brain isn't held in place by anything in the skull.Β

Obviously there are ways to hit that avoid causing concussions like avoiding helmet-to-helmet hits. Tua's concussion issues have more to do with bad luck than not knowing how to take a hit.

All of his hits have been his head hitting the turf. Anecdotally, I believe most football concussions are caused by whiplash of the head hitting the turf rather than the initial impact of being hit by another player. Not sure there is a way to avoid hitting your head off the turf when your getting drilled by a large human. And if you could avoid hitting your head off the ground, the whiplash could still rattle the brain around the skull.
