Week 16 Gameday Thread (Christmas Day Edition) - Green Bay Packers (6-8-0) at Miami Dolphins (8-6-0)

Have 2 formidable WR's.  Both with speed.  We'll be missing Stokes in this one.  If they lose it will ruin my Christmas.  Logic says they won't make the playoffs but there is still that glimmer of hope.  If they win out there is a high likelihood they get in.  Also makes the last few weeks more fun.  Hey after all we have endured this season we deserve it.  They will have to put it all together if they want to go down there and win.  Gotta win the turnover battle in this one.

lot of things broke right for GB thus far in week 16.

Seattle, NYG, WAS and Detroit all losing means if GB can get the W, they are much closer to a playoff spot

Winning out while missing the playoff is gonna suck so bad.

I'd have mixed feelings to be sure, but it would be good for this team to show it can recover from the funk it was in.  GB was a very bad team a few weeks ago.  The MIA game should be a pretty good barometer of whether they still are.

What happened to you guys to be so negative all the time? Its like, you are only happy when you are miserable.  Just enjoy the ride.  We only get 17 of these per year.  We still have a chance, and everything we needed to go our way today, went our way.

Pretty easy from here on out, obviously have to win out, but only other thing we need is Washington to lose 1 of 2. Lions and Seahawks don't matter anymore, we're ahead of them if we win out no matter what. Giants lose out and we'd be ahead of them too. Not sure if that toe helped or hurt us in the long run.

Being negative?  No, it's called being realistic.  Right now, there's an 11% chance of making the playoffs.  With a win, that number jumps up to 28%.  Realistically speaking, Washington is probably who we're going to be chasing for that 7th seed.  Green Bay's final 2 games are against Minnesota (1 game ahead of San Francisco) and Detroit, both at home.  They're a combined 19-11 this year.  Washington has Cleveland and Dallas, both at home.  They're a combined 17-13.  Unfortunately for Green Bay, both Minnesota and Detroit are both in the playoff hunt, while Cleveland has already been eliminated and Dallas is all but locked into that 5th seed spot barring a late season collapse by Philadelphia.  There's just too much that needs to go right for it to happen.

Umm depends.  All 4 of our playoff competitors, NYGs, DET, WAS, and SEA all lost, so .... a win out very well could get us in barring the NYG winning one more and WAS winning 2 more (both would need to happen).  The Giants pretty likely win vs Indy next week, but the Commanders still have to beat both Cleveland and Dallas.  Cleveland they likely will, but ... I don't know, Dallas may be pushing to make sure they don't make the playoffs.

Having said that ... This game just may be one game too much for us to win.  Miami has come back to earth in the last 3 games, but unfortunately I think we will too today after playing two crappy opponents in the Bears and Rams.  Biggest challenge I see for us is our run defense having problems, having to commit personnel there and leaving our DBs to go up one on one with Hill and Waddle.  Not a good place to be.

Worst possible scenario.  Think Washington is going to flame out.  But whatever it won't matter after today.  Unless the Pack can create some turnovers they aren't going to win.  Think this is the game that puts the nail in the coffin for Barry.  Nah most likely scenario is we drop another game and everything else goes to our way.  We could have made it if we had won out.  Really don't have a good feeling about this game today.  We will have a tough time stopping their offense.

Guess Mia is a 1 pt favorite.  I'd put my money on Miami so therefor the Packers are going to win. 😁
