We got away from the run w/ Turner vs the Vikings, Giants twice & the 49ers too. It’s one of the reasons we lost those games. Wentz took more bad sacks & that’s why we had to throw more. You usually throw when it’s 2nd or 3rd & 15 plus bc your QB held onto the ball too long & took a sack instead of throwing it away or hitting a check down. He beat the Eagles which was an incredible win, but other than that he beat the struggling Packers, Colts, Texans and Falcons. Besides the Eagles, let's not pretend he was beating good teams. There's no reason we should've tied and lost to the Giants either. You also throw when you're losing and the defense can't stop anyone, which seemed to be happening often in the first 6 games no? The OL, the playcalling, the running game etc all magically got better. We went from 2-4 with one guy starting to in playoff contention with the other. I am just not seeing the value Wentz brings other than he can throw far? What am I missing? It's pretty clear that the Oline got healthier. Look at how the oline and play calling has gone the last few games. Not to mention a healthy BRob and healthy Gibson (who isn't healthy anymore either). I'd love to see Howell get some time but I seriously doubt it will happen. I expect us to squeak out a win against the Browns.
Jeezy Fanatic
It’s so weird to me this team has one elite player on offense, and Wentz refuses to get him the ball
RSkinGM
Another point, not sure if it's been mentioned, but apparently Taylor is pretty beat up/ -- to the point, he may not even be the backup. Sam Howell could be #2 this week . Only 6 Qbs have started all of their teams games this year. WOW! As a Washington fan we all know that us winning the games we’re supposed to win is an accomplishment. Last time I checked Wentz got spanked by the Lions in a game we really wish we had right now. I think the D would’ve been better the first 6 weeks if we had been more consistent running the ball. For ex. our D played pretty well vs Dallas & especially the Bears bc we ran the ball well in those games. Theres a direct correlation between our D plying well the last 3 years when we have a more ball controlled offense whether that’s running the ball successfully or completing a slot of 5 to 10 yard passes to our RBs & TEs like in 2020 w/ Alex.
