Packerraymond Posted February 17, 2023 Share Posted February 17, 2023 Savage is a top 3 safety prospect over the last 5 drafts, at least for the way I've graded them (Jevon Holland and Dax Hill the others with him). He was a heat seeking missile at Maryland. He was a stud with Mike Pettine as well, he made loads of plays in 2019 and 2020. He's a downhill/alley defending player. Not a deep half protector. His reaction time and explosion is off the charts for a safety, but he doesn't read the deep half well. I'm going to include this in my next mock offseason, so spoiler alert to my devoted fans, but I think he's an excellent extension candidate this offseason. I want to say that is throwing good money at bad money, but if you do it right, it saves some cap space. And...our safety position is pretty poor on paper right now, so bodies are needed.
