One will play RT. The other won’t.

I don’t see us drafting Dawand regardless, but that’s why you could

I don't think that's why it wasn't a scheme fit. I forget which one but one of the better Bears writers said before FA he couldn't see Brown coming here because his lack of athleticism wouldn't work here

Woke up two hours before my alarm and am bored, so a few thoughts and my overall philosophy using the sims.

I gotta say I hate pffs big board passionately..... Though they do show the"average draft position" people tend to take those players at as well, which is an awesome feature.

Looking at the combination of PFN and PFF boards, we basically need a pick between 9 and 40 (at the latest) to be spent on offensive tackle if we want one of Paris Johnson, Anton Harrison, Broderick Jones, or Darnell Wright. After that youre basically forced into Duncan or Bergeron in the late 2nd. I'd personally totally be on board with Dawaand Jones too, but I see zero chance the Bears go that route.

As for center, personally I'm ALWAYS taking Schmitz or Tippman in the late 2nd and I'll probably swear profusely if they both go earlier since those are really the only two I want.

Positionally speaking, my drafts always include

Center (JMS, Tippman)

OT (B Jones, D Wright.. D Jones then Duncan)

RB (Gibbs, Bijan, R. Johnson, Mitchell)

AT LEAST 1 TE (usually 2)  (Washington if early, Schoonmaker later, the Purdue, Iowa, and Cincinnati kids all on there too, but not Kuntz or Musgrave)

Corner (witherspoon if early, Riley moss if late)

I also try and grab any edge or DT I can find intermixed, but the only player consistently taken is Benton and as a 3T in the third round.

I'd ideally build this team into a 2TE base formation team for the extra blocking power and ability to be more physical/bully teams, while still being an "outside zone" team. The extra blocking should be a big factor in helping get a working screen game, chipping in on defensive ends so our tackles don't get as exposed in pass pro, and getting Fields more blocks when he takes off as well.

My ideal draft needs at least 3 picks between 15 and 40 to work. We currently have zero. The first of those gets a right tackle ideally b. Jones or d Wright , the second of which is Darnell Washington at tight end, and the third of which is the elite running back pick of ideally Gibbs or Bijan... With those picks I can basically completely revamp the entire offense.

This may be my funniest one - this was on Fanspeak off an updated board of 3-23-2023.

I think all 10 of my picks would make the roster:

9: R1 P9 EDGE Will Anderson Jr. - Alabama
53: R2 P22 OT Darnell Wright - Tennessee
61: R2 P30 TE Darnell Washington - Georgia
64: R3 P1 C John Michael Schmitz - Minnesota
103: R4 P1 DL Moro Ojomo - Texas
133: R4 P31 S Sydney Brown - Illinois
136: R5 P1 WR Cedric Tillman - Tennessee
148: R5 P13 LB Dorian Williams - Tulane
218: R7 P1 DL Adetomiwa Adebawore - Northwestern
258: R7 P41 WR Parker Washington - Penn State

I wonder if you posted this in that Facebook bears mock page if they’d take this as gospel

took a break from work looking at other mock sites. nfl mock draft database lets you go back years to do mocks. it's truly incredible how many players, even just 2 years ago, got drafted in the 2/3/4 round and are either already out of football or are doing absolutely nothing with their team. guys that were ranked in the top 60 or so and have done nothing.

anyways, i did a 2021 draft and had a couple trades in there

1.21 - christian darrisaw

2.52 - devon holland

2.57 - trey smith

3.94 - josh palmer

4.104 - pete werner

4.106 - jonathan cooper

5.145 - nate hobbs

5.164 - evan mcpherson

6.204 - kene nwamgwu

6.208 - drew dalman

7.221 - demar hamlin

7.228 - dan moore
