Only Houston (worst team in the league) and Tampa (historically bad rushing team this year) were worse. It's just inexplicable to have that little faith in the running game. Obviously it wasn't effective when they actually did run the ball, but man, run a few option plays with Herbert having a run, bring a fullback in - something to mix it up. Being one dimensional in the passing game when you've got a huge lead is madness. I think the loss falls squarely on the offense here. OL injuries and WR injuries obviously do not help, but when your D + ST gives you a +5 turnover differential and essentially gifts you 27 points from turnovers, to bottle the game after that is woeful. Admittedly the defense allowing 31 points in just over a half isn't good enough either, but the offense also has a responsibility in football to drive the ball down field and help limit the opponent's momentum too. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
