Is your guy Stroud declaring?

I know there’s a rumor about unfinished business, a $5 million NIL deal, etc.

Fair or not Buckeye Nation generally doesn’t recognize a guy who went 0-2 vs UM, 0-2 in division/conference title opportunities, and didn’t win a playoff game. It’s not all on him but that’s the reality.

The smart thing to do is to sell high off a huge game vs UGA in a weak quarterback class and parlay that into a payday, but if he has other priorities and thinks he can show next year massive improvement in the areas he did last game like running, making off platform throws, performing well under pressure, etc then good for him betting on himself.

I present to you a blowhard offensive savant who will undoubtedly make vague statements about losing a tough one as a team when they could not get stops down the stretch after their defense gave them a +4 turnover differential and their special teams was +1 as they also found ways to turn TD into FG.

He is right though. They had the 3rd worst rushing offense in the league in terms of yards per game. Only Houston (worst team in the league) and Tampa (historically bad rushing team this year) were worse.

It's just inexplicable to have that little faith in the running game. Obviously it wasn't effective when they actually did run the ball, but man, run a few option plays with Herbert having a run, bring a fullback in - something to mix it up. Being one dimensional in the passing game when you've got a huge lead is madness.

I think the loss falls squarely on the offense here. OL injuries and WR injuries obviously do not help, but when your D + ST gives you a +5 turnover differential and essentially gifts you 27 points from turnovers, to bottle the game after that is woeful. Admittedly the defense allowing 31 points in just over a half isn't good enough either, but the offense also has a responsibility in football to drive the ball down field and help limit the opponent's momentum too.
