Personally, I wouldn’t want to take the risk that Stidham is a starting QB.  Your not chancing just what you pay him, your chancing the entire teams payroll plus it’s one less year we have on every long term contracted player.  That’s a massive investment.

Honestly the chance that Stidham could be a starting QB is only different in perception compared to any college QB.
and you know what you get with possible vet FA ?? From the 1 game Stidham looked like he understood the scheme, was decisive with his throws, showed that he could extend plays, ect

just curious if he is closer to that or not. to me if he comes to play like this vs KC I say they give him a shot

If stidham plays well again I say we roll with him. Get draft capital from Carr and draft either young or stroud or just good players on either side of offense or defense line or any defense spot

apparently it takes more than an off-season to learn the offense

I don’t think Carr ever got a grasp on it totally

Carr will be the Raiders QB. A team will trade and pull out so were stuck and deservingly so lol

I would absolutely love that.  It’d be even funnier if Mark freaked out and fired McDaniels over the botched deal.

I think we're picking 7-8 right now.  That's subject to change but highly unlikely we get a worse pick (perspective) by dropping to 10-12 range.  Let's say we end the year at 6-7.

I am calling the Seahawks immediately.  I am offering Carr and 6.5 to them for Denvers pick which RIGHT NOW is number 3, (potentially} 2.

The theory I have here is this... Seattle basically shocked the world by how well (ish) they did this year.  They have some pieces in place and Geno has an expiring contract. Now his was only worth 3.5 mil this season, he'll be looking for a healthy raise. Do they want to commit to that? 😬

I feel like the fact that Carr is a proven veteran, with a squeaky clean record, no diva issues and a lot of career left, this works for them. It essentially ends the QB search in Seattle for the rest of Pete's tenure there.  Do they want to wait on a rookie to boom or bust?  Idk.

It works for Derek because he is looking (according to his brother)  for a franchise that has great stability between coach, FO, and ownership.  They have a decent line.  Young talented RB.  And talent at the WR position.  Fant is Waller lite.  I believe Carr would be excited about this situation.

Depending on how Stidham plays against KC... There are a few scenarios.  He does well, you retain him, believe in him and get a cut rate backup.  This is not conducive IMO.  He plays well, you believe in him and sign a guy in a Nick Foles mold.  Jimmy G.  Geno Smith.  Etc.  With starting experience.  To push him.  Best man wins. Use the #2.5 pick on the best fn defensive player you can get your hands on.  Will Anderson-Maxx Crosby sounds amazing.  Say goodbye to swindler I mean Chandler Jones.

Or... Keep Stidham as a bridge type player and draft one of the QBs on the board. Everyone is wild about Bryce, I'm not.  Give me Stroud, Levis, trade back for Richardson or McKee etc.  Profit after McFailures is gone and a new regime is in there.

Carr will eventually stop being so bitter and immature and agree to a trade. Why? He’s not getting 40M on the open market. And Carr knows it. He’s not worth 40M. But in a trade, he keeps his contract and salary.

Will you stop being so bitter and immature when he’s finally cut or traded?

It's so hard to say because McDaniels job will be on the line next year. Does he really have time to develop a QB? I'd guess no. If Stidham plays well vs KC maybe they roll with him for a year and just go into the off season and load up on defense and add to the Oline. Shame we didn't get a better look at Stidham during the year.

They can keep Geno for cheaper who knows their system or draft Young/Stroud at 2-3 overall. They are not a trade partner in my view.

Pretty clear to me that it will be someone who know McDaniels offense. Brady or Jimmy G, followed by Stidham.

I think they can win with any of those guys if they can get the defense to average.

Any fear of wht Stidham could ask for if he has another big game against KC ?

all it takes is one desperate team in FA to sign the guy to something more than we are thinking.
can the guy make himself good money in 2 weeks? I hope nothing crazy, but with QBs you never know

I could see this happening actually. But what's gonna end up happening is he's gonna probably go somewhere where the team has everything else already filled and just need a good quarterback. Washington for example

Carr would get destroyed behind their shaky OL.

Oh yay, a third qb thread. Lol. That being said I think it’ll prolly be the ghost of Brady or mr can’t stay healthy. This staff, like most others, has shown they like their guys. I’ve already stated I’d prefer someone like minshew and let him and stidham battle it out. I don’t think we’ll get a shot at young (who I don’t truly want) or stroud. As long as they do good at the combine/ pro days combined with both of their last games they prolly go in the top 2-3 picks. We’d have to trade up. First things first, gotta get carr traded if possible. To be continued.....lol
