Here's the thing though what if Jared Stidham is better than Garoppolo? Please god no... Jimmy as a one year rental if we draft CJ Stroud or Bryce Young isn't the end of the world, but Jimmy G is worse than Carr with all of the same exact flaws Carr has.

I don't particularly like any of the quarterbacks in the draft to be honest. I mean the only one I really like his levis because of his traits but we're gonna have to wait on him

You can argue nothing was around him but you can make that argument for so many busted QB's. His skillset is nothing crazy tbh. Best arm in the draft but it's not like crazy. And his decision making is meh at best. Then again, I may warm up to him. If he has A+ pocket presence, I might start to warm up.

Maybe not even year
Dessie
McDaniel has to back himself to get the best out of any QB he can get for a minimal cost and build the roster especially on defense. Offensively it’s the interior OL has to be the focus. 2 OGs is a huge need
NYRaider
Assuming we trade/cut Carr we'll have $65M in cap space and will likely create even more space with other cuts/restructures.

I have to imagine Brandon Parker, Bilal Nichols, and Andre James are prime cut candidates if there is even .01 of cap savings to be had after the dead money. Yeah, but chunk of that money will be used up signing a QB if we go that route. Let’s assume we sign Brady…. I think he’ll want at least 30M from us. 2yr, 60M plus 2 void years, say 5m salary first year and 30m signing bonus= 12.5M thatd leave 15M in dead cap in year 3 when Brady retires. Or 22.5M if he retires after 1.

Plus, we could to the McKenzie roster over signing bonuses (one of the only smart things he ever did) for players we sign to multi year deals. So between carrying over money into future years and cleaning up the cap it would actually help rebuild.

He has taken team friendly deals throughout his career and I'm sure that he will do the same thing if he signs with us. The deal will likely be structured in a way that includes a huge signing bonus with a minimal cap hit so that we can build the team around him. Unlike DC who wanted a huge deal and didn't care about the rest of the roster, Brady understands he has to play his part to help build a winner.
