I wouldn't hate it. I'm personally hoping for one expensive guard like Nate Davis / Ben Powers and one cheaper guard like Gabe Jackson / Trai Turner.

Isn’t Powers the only LG there? I know Jackson played some LG but he moved to RG and hasn’t played LG for a while ?

Didn’t see it posted somewhere, but apparently we resigned Muti as well. Anybody know anything about this dude?

I live south of Denver and I know the natives here were pissed we poached him. Other than that, I have no idea if he’s worth anything.

edit: nvm. Just saw he has his own thread.

there's a thread. He's super strong, PFF had him as their 1 guard a few years back. He was really good in college but he keeps getting hurt. Due to his injuries and coaching changes, he was lost in the shuffle in Denver. There was talk of him emerging as a starter but he got hurt and lost out on the job. Then waived and picked up by the Raiders. I think he is talented and we needed more depth in the IOL. He would be solid depth who has talent to surprise, and still very young.

I don't think LG / RG is really that big of a deal personally. IIRC Powers has been a LG and Davis has been a RG though.

If you are saying Davi’s is going to be expensive surely you get him to play the spot he is comfortable ? Paying top dollar and asking him to swap positions is a recipe for disaster.

You guys act like you're asking him to switch from OT to OG, you'd literally just be asking him to play RG instead of LG. Regardless though if you signed Powers you could just keep him at LG and if you signed Nate Davis you could just keep him at RG. We have basically nothing at OG if the plan is to cut James and move Parham to center.

I think you are making a position move like that sound a lot easier than it actually is and why would you especially when you talking about paying top dollar.

Nobody is saying we don’t need guards. People are weary from moving folks to different positions. If they move Parham they need to draft/sign players and make the transition to the league/new offense easier by leaving them in their natural position. It at the end of the day equates to one less thing to worry about. Assemble smarter not harder.

If you sign Powers or Davis you can play them at the same spot they've been playing.

Raiders poached him from their practice squad.
