2023 Draft Prospects (Google Sheets) - New 2024 QB Worksheet

I added another 47 names to the LB group in my offline sheet @Sllim Pickens. I'm working through that but will get it up when it's done.

A couple names that are popping up at the moment (above average in OVR, RDEF, COV)

  • Ryan Smenda, Wake Forest (79.3 man cover; 64.2 zone > above average); 8.6% missed tackles
  • KD Davis, North Texas
  •  Ezekiel Noa, Boise State
  • Jackson Mitchell, Conneticut
  • Dallas Gant, Toledo
  • DaShaun White, Oklahoma
  • Seth Benson, Iowa > Dude has 228 snaps at SCB but looks like a LB from the 80's
  • Nick Anderson, Tulane

As part of my process, I'll be trying to identify guys that fit how the Lions have been using their LB's. I also think some element of size is going to be a consideration. Anzalone is almost 240 and seems to struggle with being out muscled at times. Rodrigo is 230. Board is nearly 240. I think the Lions are going to want a guy that's at least 230 to ensure they're stout enough to man the middle of the front seven. Not all of those guys above fit that so there will be a paring down.

Can you do guards next? I'm a proponent of drafting our next starting RG in Day 2 or 3.

I can/will. Just trying to work through the LB's (a deeper dive) as I expect we're going to be spending a higher than usual for Brad Holmes pick on the position (like a low 2nd or 3rd) but I also think there's a chance we double dip in the later rounds.

I've uploaded an incomplete list. I at least did height, weight, PFF ovr, PFF run, PFF pass for all 13. Skoronski is projected to be a guard which is why I've included him here. They did say that about Jonah Williams who has over 1,000 snaps with the Bengals.

    Zone   Gap
Run Snap Snaps Snap% Snaps Gap%
Penei Sewell 477 193 40.5% 241 50.5%
Frank Ragnow 447 186 41.6% 225 50.3%
Evan Brown 312 124 39.7% 162 51.9%
Jonah Jackson 364 155 42.6% 173 47.5%
Taylor Decker 477 193 40.5% 241

50.5%

So the Lions ran over 50% gap scheme rushing attacks vs zone. So we should be looking for an OG that is stronger in this area (or at minimum isn't too bad but stellar in zone).

@General Tso

I've updated the worksheet and finished the 13 guys who are listed.

Jaxon Kirkland is someone I like in the late rounds to be a backup swing T. I think adding Kirkland, re-signing Evan Brown and drafting someone like O'Cyrus Torrence would solidify our OL 7-8 deep for the next 3-4 years.

Decker/Kirkland

Jackson/Kraemer

Ragnow/Brown

Torrence/Brown

Sewell/Kirkland
