I want a Dexter Lawrence type of DT. I was watching the NYG game and was like jeez, if only we could have something like that. I know we have good depth and occasionally someone will shine at DT every now and then, but wow.

That knee won't ever allow him to maximize his physical gifts. Sucks.... Wasn't he touted as a pass rushing DT? He's basically an average run-stopping DT. And average might be giving him too much credit.

I thought he was pretty invisible Kinlaw was in the best shape of his life and then had to shut down and heal. He's still ramping up. He was the only defensive "starter" in at the end of the game. It seems like a lot of his splash plays happen early in games. It's probably hard to do a ton of cardio at his size when you have knee problems. He should start swimming. Less strain on his joints. We are going to need him to beat the eagles. We may need him and Arik to stuff a QB sneak on 4th down. Eagles rugby scrub was undefeated before hurts was injured

Feels like solly all over again constantly coming up with reasons to be hopeful. I'll be convinced when he actually gets there . Until then, Grant is right lol

He was constantly getting washed out of running lanes. The first play was probably one of the few times he did anything productive. He was raw coming out. His technique/leverage was/is inconsistent, and he won with physical traits. I think the knee has really hindered his development because he does not seem to have very many pass rush moves. I know the tone of that post came off overly optimistic but I am looking at him like a potential roll player who we need 3 more games out of, and not a cornerstone player that I thought he could become on draft day. So from that standpoint my expectations have been tempered as well. Thats why I was referencing using him to stop QB sneaks against the eagles lol It would be nice if he could use better leverage and those long arms against a guy with shorter arms like Kelce as well. NinerNation21
Some interesting stats on this game: Most points scored in a playoff game for a Shanahan 49ers team 5th most points score in a playoff game in franchise history 3rd most yards gained in a playoff game in franchise history 5th most passing yards in a playoff game in franchise history 8th most rushing yards in in a playoff game in franchise history, but it's the 3rd most under Shanahan Pretty incredible, given our franchise history. Garcia was very much a mixed bag. He frustrated me so much. He's tease with a dynamite play at one point, then miserably underthrow the target on 3rd down SOOOOOOO often. I often joked our guys needed to have their shoelaces make the catch.

Purdy has very fundamentally sound feet,Garcia had some of the weirdest footwork ever.

And the 2006 playoff game between the Eagles and Saints where Garcia filled in for McNabb. Garcia was definitely streaky, not just in the game, but overall. Was never a fan of his style of pocket-waltzing. A lot of times he looked like he was having a seizure in the pocket whether he made a play or not. But he was a good player with surrounding talent, just not great. We saw what happened when he went to Cleveland, and Detroit.
