I tried using the cap calculator from overthecap.com on a couple of Eagles' players (Bradberry, Kelce).  It gives you some different options about pre & post June 1 cuts + trades and shows the cap impact.

I would just sit back and enjoy Sunday.  Then worry about these pesky #'s. ;)

lol I am, but man is it confusing. Part of it is honestly, whether Kelce and/or Graham decide to retire, or come back.

I'm a little confused how the workbook has me over the cap for next year? The niners will have about 8-10 million in space and OTC currently has the 49ers at over 8 million? Is it missing rollover?

Part of the fun of TCMD: you get to decide that for them! LOL

Part of it is your rookie pool is already calculated in.

Wouldn't account for the difference for me...its like a 10 million dollar swing and I have no first or second round pick lol

I haven't dug into the rest, I just know what part of it is. I think you have like 3 3rd rounders, so that's at least $3m of it there.

It could be if he's using the rookie pool figures from OTC. Those still include the 49ers original picks in them for whatever reason and I know we pull a lot of this from OTC.

I have not checked everything but Mike pulled rosters from internet and then did the math on his own for his workbook program so missing rollover is a possibility.  Check out on team salary cap to see any difference.

Right...just not sure why OTC shows the dead money but isn't calculated.  That's the head scratcher for me.

Check out sterling Shepard for example in OTC calculator page.

Just not sure what to do with it.  With the cap this year and how I'm doing apy values and not too many teams with much funds I think just removing it would be ideal, but I'm on the fence so we could vote on it I guess.

Voidable year is part of player contract so he is on the roster until new league year kicks off. That is when he becomes UFA, thus all of his dead money is count against current year.  Only thing I am not certain about whether or not team re-signs a player during FA period will keep dead money (prorated year) intact.

As for Tom Brady being retirement, there is a saying on the internet that Buccaneers could split his dead money into two year by using post June 1 rule.  I don't think it is correct because Zero base salary means UFA, end of story.  I think we should give Bucs an exemption for Tom Brady only as Bucs can re-sign Tom Brady to non guaranteed veteran minimum base salary so he can designate it as Post June 1 cut for salary cap purpose. Also, it shouldn't be count as Post June 1 cut (2 maximum) since he is retiring.

I can't give you an exact answer about voidable year UFA and its dead money situation but you just can't delete them clean because it is wrong.

Don't be sorry bro.  Can't please everyone.

100% agree with your argument against this.  Will definitely take it under advisement for next season.  I just like to provide everyone with a little excitement before we kick things off.  I'd be willing to reduce the amount this time around from 1m to 500k.

Off topic, but you still kicking it in the other forum?

I am good with that because WB is sort of robotic work as we could not factor in pay cut, loyalty, etc.  Winning some prize for salary cap is kind of a good compensation for that sort.

OTC has them at 8.5...but now that I'm doing the math, this actually seems correct. Niners have like 10/11 picks and those 5th / 6th round picks add up quick at 800K a pop. So I think @MikeT14 is right and it's just the rookie class. 10 picks will run up about 8.5 million or so

Apologies, I thought you said 8m over the cap in WB against 8m under the cap on OTC.
