Reiter is our practice squad OL. He's 4th on the depth chart at best. Kinnard has been inactive all but one game iirc. Nothing to see here *knock on wood*.

Gotcha, that's useful info.   But you only have 8 other guys on the active roster, right?  That's some *crazy* good fortune to only go 8 deep all season.  That's part of having succesful seasons, though.

Brown-Thuney-Humprey-Smith-Wylie as starters. Tega Wanogho and Niang as primary backup OTs, and Allegretti backs up anywhere inside. Thuney and Wylie have played in a lot of different spots too, so shuffling around isn't as big of an issue as it use to be.

Absolutely, just saying that it's rare that you only need to go 8 guys deep all year long.   The fact the 9th/10th guy have been active only 1x is crazy good injury fortune.  There are many teams that had to get to their 12th+ guy active on gameday this year.

You can't make any kind of proclamation like that. Teams can turn around practically overnight with the right coaching, right QB choices, right management. You can't just assume the other 3 teams will continue to be completely inept going forward. Texans might knock it out of the park with their HC choice and QB pick this year.

The most dominant QB will always dominate the division, so many samples of that.

All of those guys made the playoffs again. So quit acting like it’ll never happen again. Certainly…anything is possible, but let’s not be dramatic here and neglect all reasonable probabilities here.

If we were talking about the Super Bowl that’d be one thing…we’re talking about the playoffs.

BTW…Derek Carr. Come on buddy

Do you not think Raiders fans were optimistic they'd get more chances after 2016?

Like I said, never is a stretch, but acting like playoff appearances are a given after one year they squeaked in in a terrible division is far too optimistic.

Nobody is comparing Lawrence to Mahomes! Sheesh. We are comparing the optimism of a fan base of Lawrence to that of Mahomes. I was responding to someone saying that there is no certainty to Lawrence will be back to the playoffs. That’s objectively stupid. I’m sorry…but teams with good coaches with good QBs find a way back. Show me a QB who is Lawrence’s class that doesn’t find a way back.

So much confusion in this post.

Dude didn’t even say there was no certainty to make it back, like ever again (which would be a bad take). Just that people are jumping on the ship pretty prematurely, and takes yours this justify that. Mahomes’ hype after Year 1 as a starter/sophomore and Lawrence’s hype as a sophomore - thus far - have no business being near each other. That’s a silly thing to say, and that’s how subjects like this get so polarizing. People make wild statements like that and any opposition is almost considered slander, lol.

Whether or not he enters Mahomes category (which is incredibly doubtful, because Mahomes’ current trajectory is basically GOAT tier) down the road remains to be seen and is basically irrelevant for this right now, because one guy took the league by storm immediately and showed he was at that level right away, the other is putting together an awesome sophomore campaign with room to get even better. Absolutely no shame or negativity in not being league MVP as a sophomore, but the hype is incomparable.

They didn't go 8 deep all season. The starting RT, Lucas Niang, has been out basically all season. Still, it has never been more than three out at once and that was one game.
