Ryan only as a back up if they let lance go

but I don’t see them getting rid of either of their young qb with their qb luck

would roll with purdy because of his rookie deal would allow to keep team together and just keep lance as a back up

I just don't see the Niners trading Lance unless they get a great return. Would be risky to trade Lance with such a a small sample size. Assuming Purdy is fine, he will most likely start with Lance backing up if Purdy doesn't pan out.

Same. If it's not a first round pick plus, it's not worth trading him. I say just keep em both and still sign Brady

No point of getting Brady unless he signs for 5 million

You have a nice problem in your hands

They don’t need a QB. Lance has superstar potential and Purdy is a capable starting NFL QB. They will roll with both next year and go with the hot hand throughout the season.

It is whoever wins the competition in camp. Guys like Silver were saying the job was Purdy's regardless of what happens today or in the SB but I never bought into that. Shanny is going to give Lance every chance in the world and hope he takes a step forward and if he does not, then he knows he can win a lot of games with Purdy.

The team is always going to be there as long as they have relative health but it is just super frustrating how this season ended. This was a SB caliber team and it did not even have a fair chance to get to the big dance.

I would not be shocked what so ever if Lance wins the job. And Purdy as a backup is as good as it gets.

And people saying “trade one”, the 49ers need two good QB’s, one always gets injured.

This team is ALWAYS going to need two QBs lol. Brady is very durable but even if he was the QB here, you couldn't even count on him being healthy for the entire season.

Lance/Purdy is all this team needs. That is if Purdy doesn't need Tommy John surgery.

Why? Clearly teams like the Jets would take that chance.

Sure he's better than Zach Wilson, but with the contract Jimmy will likely demand I don't see anyone being able to build a real contender around him again.

He won't be getting paid that much due to injury/age. If any team that is a QB away is going to start drawing lines in the sand, and start lowballing, then they don't want to win. Even average QBs get overpaid a bit, due to the importance of the position.
