20 Prospects...

We could never have all these players, of course, but at this stage,
here's 20 of the players who I just really like.

In no particular order...

DB B.Branch - So versatile, tough and built for today's NFL. Love the dude.
CB D.Witherspoon - Love the way this kid plays. Could be our pick at 17.
CB E.Forbes - A bit spindly but a total playmaker.
CB C.Smith - Another ball hawk and playmaker with decent size.
DT M.Smith - Actually prefer him to Ika. Incredible athlete.
DL T.Tuipolotu - Could be a real monster. Plays with his hair on fire.
DL B.Bresee - If he's healthy he's a wrecker. Strong athlete.
DE M.Morris - Great athlete for his size. Could be a great 5 tech.
LB T.Simpson - closest thing to Shazier. An athletic chess piece.
OLB W.Anderson - He's going to be as special as everyone hopes.
EDGE M.Murphy - ditto.
EDGE Z.Harrison - I think he's going to be solid player for long time.
EDGE I Foskey - Dude can really play. Great size/speed combo.
OT J.Duncan - I think he has a chance to be special. Athletic.
OL B.Jones - I actually think he could be a pro bowl OG.
OG C.Torrence - Mauler. Going to be a stud paver for someone.
OC J.Michael-Schmitz - Powerful and dominant. Future pro bowler.
OC O.Oluwatimi - Strong anchor. Solid athlete. Really good.
WR K.Boutte - I think he'll really shine at the next level.
WR J,Smith-Njiba - I think he'll be the best slot. Great route runner.

Yours?

Nice list .

WR Boutte not going into the draft though

CB Forbes for sure, and I think between his weight and proabaly less than typical 40 and the combine, he should be there at 32 maybe a bit later.  Pure Ballhawk AND returner after the INT. Him and Minkah!

Just add  S Branch!  There is the secondary getting even better, keep Sutton of course but if he leaves then get a UFA  that is good.  Have depth at CB, Forbes can be a resreve or dime CB year 1.

How about DT Kancey as the successor to Cam eventually?  For now, Watt, Kancey, Heyward and Highsmith . This should be a passrush.

OT Darnell Wright outplayed W. Anderson yet could be there RD3 or maybe RD4.

With Austin as DC we played moire man and got the INT's despite not having TJ for much of the season. Do we still get CB1 in RD1 #17 though? I would but if other players are there it's tempting.

Armsteeld had a C picked out ~  RD4, could be a good idea in case Cole gets hurt, and Green is gone

OLB: Calijah Kancey,

he is DT but can play outside as well since he is cat quick. This is a player that they should consider and maybe KP will tell them such since he was a teammate.  He would make our passrush deadly, leaving Cam as the weak link of all things :o

Owen Pappoe

seems like he should be there mid rounds but combine will probably have him rise. Speed is deadly, and what we need.  What round do you think he will get drafted?

Later pick of UDFA LB Henley, has a knack for FF , lets get more TO's

K.Boutte was going to return, but changed his mind and entered the draft, was the last I read.

I'm good on the Clemson players.

Cam Smith is a #2 CB. That's not a knock more so the standard is the standard. When you acknowledge that as the standard, you see the Steelers don't have a CB higher than 4th, if we keep slot as its own separate entity. And acknowledge we don't have that either.

Tuli like a Willie McGinest type. More so powerful but very athletic. Pretty sure there's a USC connection there, which is why it was used.

Foskey is a downgrade to Highsmith but still very good.

Oluwatimi I like in the 4th round. You're just not in a position to address wants, given your litany of needs. That pick needs to be a failed CB pick more so than a nominal upgrade. Don't it suck to suck

Kayshon Boutee is ELITE

I just don't see a lot of speed this year.  Maybe the combine will show different.

Some folks who can (apparently) cook it...

J.Hyatt (maybe the fastest)
Q.Johnston (apparently a freak)
J.Addison
J.Downs
Z.Flowers
A.Iosavis (apparently 4.3s)
T.Scott (also rumors of 4.3s)
M.Mims
R.Rice (have heard mixed reviews)
T.Tucker

If Iosavis runs in the 4.3s grab him!

  • He’s not going to threaten to take the top off of a defense.

would he be around RD3 /RD4 despite the 4.3 speed and height? If he can't take the top off the defence, what about Austin, can he?

I don't think he runs that fast but I get most of my info through reading and only a little bit of film.  Someone with 1st hand knowledge may have a good idea about him.  But then again, you'd be taking their opinion.  So....🤷‍♂️

I don't know enough about him, only what I've read, so not sure either.

Austin will beat people with his route running.  Beat them often enough and he can always threaten deep.  Think AB.  At best he was a 4.4 in shorts but he kept DBs on their heels because the square out or hook could also quickly move to a vertical.

this will be good. I still hope the team signs Marvin Jones to add to WR corps. If they draft Addison  then so be it, but hopes are the OL gets some early draft attention even if they bring in a UFA because reserves help if the injuries occur

think AB?  This is quite a feat if he is even close to that, then of course minus the headaches and diva behaviour as well.  With such expectations for Austin, would you consider WR in RD1 or in UFA? Landry appears to be thought of often for Steeler fans.  Someone also mentioned Julio, but he is always hurt it seems, I would prefer a more reliable vet. I like the idea of such a vet and then maybe take a flyer on a mid/late round pick WR as well.

Pickens should break out, he is special, needs more targets.  If he was to get hurt though, they need to add  to the WR group
