turtle28
Jason Williams was Randy Moss’s PG in HS & his QB in HS. My roommate at WVU & his friends & other people I know saw them play in HS. Williams would throw it up & Randy would go get it! 😂

Thaiphoon
Apologies to all for being semi-MIA the last few weeks - this explanation will be a long one. My Mother-in-law (MIL) who I love dearly had been short of breath since late January and getting tired too easily and complaining about her legs hurting. I took her to the doctor in late February and while we were there, two things shocked me. The first was that this short, elderly (she was born in 1934), asian lady who has never topped 90lbs as long as I've known her, weighed in a 105lbs. The second was that her hands were a little purple and cold! The third thing was that he legs were swollen. The doctors told us to go to the ER right away. Fortunately Inova Landsdowne hospital was right next door. Long story short, she was in stage 2/stage 3 of heart failure. She was admitted to the hospital and they gave her Lasix to get rid of most of the fluid, but had to use a needle to drain a pocket of fluid beside her left lung that wouldn't go away. She was in the hospital for about a week. Once released, my wife stayed with her that week (we live in Leesburg not too far away) while I had the kiddos. Then that Friday, my MIL had another TIA episode (TIA's nickname is "mini stroke") like the one she had in 2019. So back to the hospital for a few days. Ever since then, we've been camped at my MIL's place to keep watch on her since the danger zone for a full stroke is 90 days after a TIA. Not to be outdone, my mother had complications from surgery cause an massive infection that nearly cost her her life recently. And since last week, she has been hospitalized and getting massive amounts of antibiotics pumped through her every 6 hours. She was discharged two days ago but still has to go back twice a day for an infusion, every day, for the next 6 weeks. So between my MIL and my own mother, AND my daughter's musical performances last weekend, AND my daughter's soccer league starting, AND my son's T-Ball league starting, AND work, AND AND AND... it has been a stressful month or so. But hopefully things are leveling off and I can be a bit more active like I've always been. And THANK YOU to all of you for keeping things nice in here. I popped in a few times to clean up stuff and make sure rules were being followed and to my shock, you all behaved yourselves (mostly, hehe). So thank you!

turtle28
@Thaiphoon sorry about your mother-in-law man. My grandma died of that at 62. Then my mom’s mom is still kicking at 90 years old like your MIL. I hope things get better and she continues to progress. As for the forum, I think it's fair to say that we've all grown up and matured so we're not as wild pushing the forum rules as we used to be 5-10 or 15 years ago.

Scary thought ! Things do seem much more laid back than a few years ago. Could it be we all allied in our hate for the Snyders ! Kidda like the Dirty Dozen coming together hating Major Reisman .

The RG3/Kirk debates & those 6 years were rough & a lot of hard debating. Usually the forum goes back and forth most over QB's bc we haven't had a reliable one for more than a few years since Theismann.

Honestly, I thought that the announcement of an offer being submitted to the league would cause some people to flock back here. My guess is that forums continue to go the way of the dodo, which is sad but so many other mediums have filtered in over the past 20 years. I’ve been a bit out of things like Thai, nothing that crazy, but being in a serious relationship where we are discussing marriage and kids now, her financial things (parental financial abuse is a real thing guys, I don’t even have kids but I can’t imagine doing that to my own) and my grandmother turns 96 in two weeks, so it’s been a wild eight months for me.

Congratulations 🍾 I think… It is true that Twitter has pretty much taken the place of message boards. Reddit too & probably something else I don’t even know about. A lot of people get on Instagram too Edited April 21 by turtle28

turtle28
I still can't believe that Bruce Allen & Scot McCloughan didn't re-sign Alfred Morris in 2016 instead turning to Matt Jones to be Washingtons' starting RB. What a horrible mistake! If you a remember this was an awful offseason for the team. Not only letting Morris sign with the Cowboys but, they made 3 or 4 lackluster defensive signings instead of signing Calais Campbell to a huge contract to anchor our 3-4. Then, obviously we had an absolutely awful 2016 draft. Eventually, Fuller & Matt Ioannidis broke out in 2017 but Matt was mostly a practice squad player as a rookie behind a bad DL. Dotson, Cravens (mostly bc he was a head case, not bc of lack of talent), Sudfeld, Keith Marshall & Steven Daniels were all busts. It was the beginning of bad decisions made by Bruce which took a 2017 division -winning tea into a 7-9 team by 2017 & 2018 and then a 3-13 in 2019. Not retaining Djax in 2017 again was a bad move by Bruce. Then obviously in 2018 not retaining Kirk wasn’t a good move but, our drafts were better in 2017, 2018 & 19 than they were in 16.
turtle28
Magical year. I wish the team would’ve shut him down for the season after he got hurt vs the Ravens. He could still be our QB if they had shut him down after that injury & let him get healthy & be 100% for 2013.
naptownskinsfan
Danny Boy should’ve meddled and gone down there and benched Robert.

I remember arguing when it happened that shutting him down was the exact thing we should be doing (given the extent of that hyperextension from the Ngata hit). Caught a lot of heat suggesting that.
