turtle28 Posted October 21, 2017 Author Share Posted October 21, 2017 (edited) The Wizards once again played like trash on defense, missed some clutch Fgs and FTs down the stretch but still escaped with huge victory over the Pistons. Porter played awesome in the first half - just like last night - but cooled off in the second half, missing 3 short shots, an open 3 and getting a ball stolen away from him while driving to the basket with 30 seconds left after he had a steal of his own. Wall was notibly upset on that Porter steal, he wanted Porter to collect it and run clock but Porter tried to beat 3 defenders down for a layup and got it stolen away. Needless to say Porter should have had at least 8 more points if not 11 more. Beal & Wall too went cold in the 4th quarter. Beal missed two open 3s and a short runner, a free throw, and a lay up - so he could have easily had 11 more points and sealed the game with those two 3s in the 4th quarter. Then, Wall missed a short jumper, 2 open 3s and a FT also. So he could have had around 10 more points. Lastly, Gortat missed a FG & a lay up on a lob from beal in the 4th and ten Porter missed the follow up. Also, I didn't realize this but Mahimi lost 20 pounds this offseason and they're hoping less weight on his legs help keep him healthy? I tell ya, it's nice having Frazier, Meeks & Scott off the bench, all pros and all solid in their roles. Frazier is a perfect table center - true pg - as Kara said last night on the broadcast, Meeks is quick as a cat and his jump shot is a thing of beauty and Scott is the versatile forward who can play SF & PF and shoot the 3.
