Okay so the game is simple...after we make some cuts & put some money aside to resign some of our own/extensions/draft picks/vet min FA/emergency fund we should have around $70 million in FA to spend...use the list above for the projected per year salary and with no other restrictions on the amount you sign or who other teams may sign let's see who you would bring in?...

OT Jawaan Taylor - $14.75 million

OG Dalton Risner - $7.5 million

DT Daron Payne - $20 million

DT A'Shawn Robinson - $2.5 million

DE Dre'Mont Jones - $14.5 million

LB Bobby Okereke - $8.5 million

Total Spend: $67.75 million

Of course my FA was going to be trench heavy what were you expecting? haha

DT Javan Hargrave $18.33M

I don’t think Payne makes the market which will be a big disappointment; Hargrave is 30 but he’s a dude.

OT Jawaan Taylor $14.25M

Good young RT. Speaks for itself.

RB Saquon Barkley $10.1M

Him on RPOs with JFF would be scary good. Almost zero chance this happens, but hey…

CB Byron Murphy $8.75M

Solid starter at corner with inside-out versatility.

LB Drue Tranquill $4.25M

Rangy and ascending. Looked strong as a first year starter this year.

DE Justin Houston $4M

Guessing he goes to a contender for a SB shot, but as a situational rusher he’s exactly what we need as a short term patch fix.

DT A’Shawn Robinson $2.5M

2 down run stuffer. We need one. He’s good at it.

You think the commanders are gonna pay Allen, Young, Sweat, and Payne?

Not long term, no, but Young is still on his rookie deal and not an extension candidate yet, and they can structure an extension for Sweat with a lower 2023 number to make short term financial space to keep Payne for now. My gut says he gets tagged for 2023 before being allowed to walk next year. I hope I’m wrong.

To tag him would cost $19m. Commanders sit at $8m in cap. Idk if that’s already accounting for upcoming rookie contracts. Sure, they could try to restructure others but that seems like a tall order for a team to decide they’re only player retention away from competing.

I agree with you AZ. its hard for me to see anyone give up on a midround R1 that produces at his level. Ron Rivera said that they would do everything to keep him about 2 weeks ago.

That’s true but also a little misleading. When they officially cut Wentz they’ll get over $26M in cap space back.
