Now that we have the new DC in Brian Flores in place, I'd like to gauge people's opinions on how the Vikings should address various positions on the team...obviously, this will probably be heavy on the defensive side of the ball since that seems to have the most glaring holes.  In order to not keep @SemperFeistwaiting, we'll move on to the starting C position.

2022 depth at the position:  Garrett Bradbury, Austin Schlottman, Chris Reed (also backup G)

2023 Outgoing Free Agents:  Bradbury, Schlottman

Potential Free Agents Available: Bradley Bozeman, Ethan Pocic, Scott Quessenberry, Connor McGovern (the Dallas one, not the Jets one), Will Clapp, Evan Brown, Matt Skura

Potential Draftees: John Michael Schmitz, Luke Wypler, Olusegun Oluwatimi, Alex Forsyth, Jarrett Patterson (might be a OG at NFL level tho), Ricky Stromberg, Grant Gibson, Jacob Gall

I'm looking to resign Bradbury, as long as the price tag is reasonable. That 6.25m AAV deal that pff suggested seems very fair. I think Ingram will take a step forward this offseason, and continuity will make all of them better in season 2 of this offense. hopefully KO will adapt his offense to change up the passing game so it's not so predictable.

I thought I was the only one that believes Ingram will be a lot better next year.

He really did get a lot better in the 2nd half of the season. He made a ton of mistakes as a rookie, but there's loads of potential.

I'm going to bring up Ed Ingram's thread. Take a look at how all the interior OL did that were drafted this past year and how Ingram stacks up against them. Everyone is going to be surprised at how crappy most did.

Currently I just have a hard time imagining we draft a C first round this year with the needs on defense. I still don’t think the value of any of these guys is there at #23.

A trade on the other hand makes it interesting.

To me, with the depth of the C class this year, doesn't make a lot of sense to me either. But everyone has different priorities!

If the Vikings plan to bring back Kirk Cousins for 2-3 more years, then Garrett Bradbury needs to move on. He’s not the right center for a pass first offense to begin with, and it’s even more prudent to find a new center with a QB like Cousins.

I have no issue with looking for a new center in the draft, and if that’s the route they want to take, then keeping Chris Reed and penciling him in as the starter heading into the draft should be a decent route to take.

If the team is looking to spend money on the center position, I’d be looking at Ethan Pocic. Given Cleveland’s investment into their two guards, Conklin, and soon to be Wills, I don’t see them throwing money at Pocic.

If they can get Bradbury back at a reasonable number, I think that's the best choice. He played better this year, when he wasn't surrounded by awful play, until he got hurt.

He's not the player I thought he'd be, but he's more than good enough, especially with all their needs. If they have a worse center next year, they should just trade all the skill players not named Jefferson.....

I'm waffling between either re-signing Bradbury or just simply promoting Chris Reed and giving him a shot...I think size-wise, he's much better suited physically to succeed than Bradbury is going up against some of the physical NTs and other DTs in this league.  There's then the question of him soon to being 31 yrs old, so he'd definitely not be a long-term solution and something they'd have to address as well in the draft in the next couple of years.  I'd probably lean towards resigning Bradbury as long as the deal is reasonable.  However, spotrac lists his market value as $11.9M...I'm not sure I'd consider that reasonable, as that's Eric McCoy and Ryan Kelly money.  It's a tough call for me.  I don't think that 6.25M AAV is anywhere in the ballpark of what he'd get in the open market, @JDBrocks.  I think he's going to get at least $10M based on his age and who's available in the market.

That's a very fair assessment, but I don't know of a team that would be willing to pay him 10+ based on pretty good season after a bunch of bad/below average seasons. If he costs more than 7 I'm out.
