mdonnelly21
Someone on here said the #1 pick is worth way more. Which was surprising given that JF is already a proven success at minimum as a running threat. Whoever is drafted at #1 may not work out at all. And BTW, I'm talking across the board not situational dependent.
Forge
#1 pick is worth more, imo
AZ_Eaglesfan
#1 pick and it isn’t even remotely close.

BayRaider
1st pick and not close. We have two years of tape on Fields. I still think Fields is worth a Top 20 pick, because his status of bust or good QB is still not decided, he has shown a lot of flashes Edited February 10, 2023 by BayRaider
malak1
The pick is worth more in a trade, but none of the QBs will be better than Fields.
Ty21
I think it’s a better question than it seems. The first pick this year is more than likely going to be a qb. As someone said before, if Fields was in this draft, he’d likely be the top guy. The first pick will yield more in return in a trade. Fields is being judged too critically after a year in a new system, terrible receivers, and horrendous blocking (don’t bring up the arbitrary misguided PFF OL stats lol). The years I thought were bad with our best receiver being either Earl Bennett or Devin Hester would’ve been preferable to what we fielded last year. I think Fields makes tremendous strides this year with a whole offseason to work on mechanics and allow Getsy to figure his stuff out. Assuming the bears upgrade several positions, that is. But overall, I’m happier with Fields than I would be taking one of these qbs. And overall, I’m happy that we have both options lol.

Chiefer
Halfway proven commodity at QB is worth more than the #1 pick.
Dr A W Niloc
A more reasonable question might be whether or not Justin Fields is worth an 11th pick.

TheKillerNacho
I still need to see if Justin Fields can take that next step as a passer like Lamar Jackson was able to do in his second year before I say he's worth more than the 1st overall pick. That said, I'd probably take him over any QB available in this draft, so it would be wise for the Bears to move it over Fields.
MagicMT
Depends on how you value the QBs in the upcoming draft and how you evaluate Fields going forward. Personally I'd draft Bryce Young and CJ Stroud before Fields if they were in the same draft, but that's not taking into account how Fields has looked so far in the NFL. His rushing ability is probably best in the league for a QB right now but as a passer he still has lots of flaws. But his receiving corp is atrocious and his OL is bad so it's not like he's being helped a ton so that makes it harder to properly evaluate him. Still, it's hard to imagine him elevating his play enough to be a top 5-10 QB in the league. I see this kind of upside with Bryce Young and (to a lesser extent) with Stroud. The 1st pick gives me another QB that is on a rookie contract for a longer period of time as well, which makes this choice more advantageous from my perspective. 4thandInches
I’d say #1 since you also get 2 more years on the rookie contract.
