pf9
With another NFL season in the books, here are games I'd like to see aired nationally in 2023. Week 1 national TV games: Kickoff: Pittsburgh at Cincinnati (to make up for the Bengals' lone home night game of the 2022 regular season being canceled) Sunday night: Philadelphia at Kansas City (Super Bowl 57 rematch) Monday night: San Francisco at Minnesota Thanksgiving week national TV games: Thursday 12:30: Denver at Detorit (Denver has gone longest of Detroit's home opponents without a Thanksgiving appearance) Thursday 4:30: LA Rams at Dallas (LA Rams have gone longest of Dallas' home opponents without a Thanksgiving appearance) Thursday 8:30: Jacksonville at Cleveland (Cleveland has gone longest of the remaining teams without a Thanksgiving appearance. Jacksonville the longest drought of their opponents; high-profile matchup of two former Clemson QBs that won a CFP title) Sunday night: Kansas City at Green Bay Monday night: New Orleans at Houston ABC Exclusive MNF games (which I want to be presented similar to 1990s MNF broadcasts, with Al Michaels, Kirk Herbstreit, and Dan Dierdorf on the call), would be protected from flex scheduling and participants would be encouraged to wear 1990s throwbacks; games start at 9 PM ET: Week 14: NY Jets at NY Giants (first primetime meeting between teams, let alone outside the Sunday 1 PM slot) Week 15: Jacksonville at Tampa Bay Week 16: Dallas at San Francisco Other Christmas Day games: Fox: Miami at Kansas City (teams played longest NFL game ever in KC on Christmas Day 1971) ESPN: Pittsburgh at Cleveland Other games on wish list: Buffalo VS. Miami Baltimore VS. Cincinnati Baltimore VS. Pittsburgh Kansas City VS. LA Chargers Dallas VS. NY Giants Dallas VS. Philadelphia NY Giants VS. Philadelphia Detroit VS. Minnesota Green Bay VS. Minnesota San Francisco VS. Seattle Buffalo at Kansas City Buffalo at LA Chargers Miami at LA Chargers Baltimore at Jacksonville Cincinnati at Jacksonville Jacksonville at Pittsburgh NY Giants at San Francisco Philadelphia at Seattle San Francisco at Philadelphia Seattle at Dallas Seattle at NY Giants Detroit at Tampa Bay Tampa Bay at Green Bay Tampa Bay at Minnesota Buffalo at Philadelphia Dallas at Miami Miami at Philadelphia NY Giants at Buffalo NY Giants at Miami Baltimore at San Francisco Pittsburgh at Seattle San Francisco at Pittsburgh Seattle at Baltimore Seattle at Cincinnati Detroit at Kansas City Detroit at LA Chargers Kansas City at Minnesota LA Chargers at Minnesota Buffalo at Cincinnati Miami at Baltimore Cincinnati at Kansas City Baltimore at LA Chargers Jacksonville at Buffalo Kansas City at Jacksonville Detroit at Dallas Minnesota at Philadelphia Tampa Bay at San Franciscp Cincinnati at San Francisco Seattle at Detroit Dallas at LA Chargers Detroit at Baltimore Minnesota at Cincinnati Tampa Bay at Buffalo LA Rams at Indianapolis (sole 4:25 game on CBS between in a week between weeks 2-4, Colts would wear blue helmets, jerseys and pants, and the game would be promoted as the Smurf Game to promote Nickelodeon's Smurfs cartoon, with an alternate broadcast on the channel accordingly; fans would be encouraged to show up at the game dressed in all blue or cosplaying as a Smurf) San Francisco at Jacksonville Edited February 13, 2023 by pf9

Play twice in the opening weekend? If Cincy plays anyone in a night game, it will be in KC on Thursday night. It's either that or Philly for the Chiefs. Cincy and Pitt don't need to be the first game for each two years in a row.

Just in case we cancel a game later in the season. We can have a double bye 🤣
August4th
NFL/NBC has some good options for the opening game vs KC. LV(if they get Rodgers), LAC, Bills, Eagles, Bengals, Fins,..make a case for den with it being sean payton debut ...even the lions could be a good pick imo
minutemancl
I think I speak for everyone when I say that all NFC East inter-division games should be in primetime, nationally televised, and maybe even beamed directly into our brains.

Now that the division seems to be good again, I think people won't mind as much about having a bunch of NFCE primetime games. It was more annoying when the division sucked in recent years. pf9
ABC's broadcasts of Jets-Giants and Jaguars-Buccaneers would preceded by airings of a new entertainment series at 8 PM, which should be a reboot of the Terminator franchise co-produced by Skydance, ABC Signature, and Paramount, the latter of which having produced several MNF lead-ins in the past, most notably MacGyver. Other episodes of the Terminator series would air Thursday nights while the regular Thursday line-up is on hiatus. Airing in the 8 PM hour before Cowboys-49ers would be holiday-themed episodes of The Ghost and Molly McGee and Amphibia, reflecting the fact that week 16 Monday is Christmas. Dierdorf is retired as well. You want 4 east coast games to have games ending well after midnight?

There will be three weeks with two games on Mondays, with one game each on ESPN and ABC. Edited February 13, 2023 by pf9

Disney won’t want to pay the Amazon and friends crew nor would Amazon want to pay them them to not be on their channel. You can’t have two game starting within 30 mins of each other especially an east coast game so late. It’s bad for business.
