scar988
Head Coach Demeco Ryans (Texans) - A+, best coaching prospect on the market Frank Reich (Panthers) - A+, best established coach on the market Jonathan Gannon (Cardinals) - D, wasn't really a great DC and honestly, didn't earn this job. Sean Payton (Broncos) - B, good coach, but gave up too much for him Shane Steichen (Colts) - B, has a ton of potential. Offensive Co-ordinator Bill O'Brien (Patriots) - F, he sucks. Bobby Slowik (Texans) - No idea. Don't know enough about him. Brian Schottenheimer (Cowboys) - B, he'll be McCarthy's lapdog. Kellen Moore (Chargers) - B, new concepts for Herbert for once Mike LaFleur (Rams) - A, was underrated. Runs the scheme that McVay runs Nathaniel Hackett (Jets) - D, unimaginitive offense with predictable playcalling Tim Kelly (Titans) - No idea. Don't know enough about him. Todd Monken (Ravens) - A+. Smartest offensive guy on the market for a coordinator job. Fits in really well with Lamar and their offense. Defensive Co-ordinator Brian Flores (Vikings) - A Ejiro Evero (Panthers) - A Jim Schwartz (Browns) - B Joe Woods (Saints) - D Matt Burke (Texans) - B Ryan Nielsen (Falcons) - C Steve Wilks (49ers) - A Vic Fangio (Dolphins) - A
notthatbluestuff
I like the Texans and Colts hires. Excited to see some wars in the AFC South! Also some games against the Titans, I guess.
biggie.
Bringing O'Brien back isn't an F hire lol Under him Brady had a very successful return from his ACL tear. Brady won his second MVP the following year despite trading Moss at midseason. 2011 was the first time Brady crossed 5k yards, Gronk broke out and we came up just a little short in the SB. Bryce Young won the Heisman under his tutelage and will likely be drafted second overall by Houston. Not the flashiest hire, but it's the one that pleases everyone. Belichick sticks with his buddies and Mac gets an experienced full time OC whose system is a perfect fit. It shows they are not giving up on Mac like so many suggest. An upgrade over Patricia and letting him work with the defense is an A+ in my book. Edited February 16, 2023 by biggie.

Frank Reich (Panthers) - B I think he’s a good coach and he’s putting together a strong staff. I’ve just never really been a huge fan of retread hires. Jonathan Gannon (Cardinals) - C Seems like he was more so a product of the talent they get had rather than a high level coordinator. The Chiefs staff coached circles around him in the second half Sean Payton (Broncos) - C+ I like Payton on as a coach but I’m not a fan of trading away premium picks to hire him, especially after they just traded away a ton of draft resources for Russ. I also question his long term commitment after he just retired like a year ago. Shane Steichen (Colts) - A The Colts are likely going to take their QB of the future this year and Steichen has already worked with two of the best young QBs in the league with Hurts and Herbert. Offensive Co-ordinator Bill O'Brien (Patriots) - C+ Decent coach that will be a massive upgrade over their offensive staff from last season. Bobby Slowik (Texans) - A From the Shanahan tree, worked closely with Purdy last year and is young and inexperienced enough that he should be there for 2-3 years with their young QB. Brian Schottenheimer (Cowboys) - D Hasn’t ever shown to be a good OC and was hired more so to please MM’s ego than anything. Kellen Moore (Chargers) - A Love this hire and think he’s really going to help Herbert take the next step. Mike LaFleur (Rams) - C+ Wasn’t great with the Jets but it doesn’t matter a ton with McVay there. Nathaniel Hackett (Jets) - D Hasn’t shown to be that great of a coach without Aaron Rodgers. Tim Kelly (Titans) - D Todd Monken (Ravens) - A Defensive Co-ordinator Brian Flores (Vikings) - A Ejiro Evero (Panthers) - A Jim Schwartz (Browns) - C+ Joe Woods (Saints) - F Matt Burke (Texans) - B+ Ryan Nielsen (Falcons) - C+ Steve Wilks (49ers) - B Vic Fangio (Dolphins) - A
minutemancl
The Buccaneers still need an OC, don't they? I think letter grades are dumb so I'll just give short little opinions. Head Coach Demeco Ryans (Texans) - I like this one, probably mostly because it just feels right. Defensive head coaches have had a rough go of it lately though, so I'm not sold on this being a great hire. Frank Reich (Panthers) - I like this one too. Reich is a good coach. Jonathan Gannon (Cardinals) - Not a fan of this one. Admittedly know very little about Gannon besides his defense's performance though. Also he looks weird. Sean Payton (Broncos) - What a strange pairing. As far as head coaching candidates go though, it's hard to ever find an available one as good as Sean Payton was. Shane Steichen (Colts) - I like this one too. Offensive Co-ordinator Bill O'Brien (Patriots) - Maybe a bit unpopular, but I like this hire. Should be good for them. Bobby Slowik (Texans) - I like this one as well. Brian Schottenheimer (Cowboys) - Do not like this one. This feels like a disaster waiting to happen. This nepo baby has lasted pretty long considering he's never been impressive. Kellen Moore (Chargers) - I like this one. Mike LaFleur (Rams) - I like this one a lot. Nathaniel Hackett (Jets) - I do not like this one. Seems like he was hired just in an attempt to lure Rodgers there, which didn't work so well for the last team who did that literally just last year. Tim Kelly (Titans) - Probably not great. Todd Monken (Ravens) - Really good. Defensive Co-ordinator Brian Flores (Vikings) - Fantastic. Probably the best hiring of any HC/OC/DC this offseason. Ejiro Evero (Panthers) - I like it. Jim Schwartz (Browns) - Sure Joe Woods (Saints) - Awful. Matt Burke (Texans) - I like this one. Ryan Nielsen (Falcons) - Don't know who this is, never bothered to learn after he was hired. Steve Wilks (49ers) - I have a weird feeling that Wilks is a better HC than he is a DC. Kind of neutral on this one? Vic Fangio (Dolphins) - 2nd best hiring of any HC/OC/DC this offseason. Maybe 1b to Flores 1a?

ronjon1990
Head Coach Demeco Ryans (Texans) - A-. My only knock is he's a Defensive guy. Not sure he fits their needs the best, but a very good hire nonetheless. Frank Reich (Panthers) - A+. Well established coach. Things went awry in Indianapolis, but this coaching search and the Jeff Saturday thing make him more sympathetic. Jonathan Gannon (Cardinals) - C. He's alright, and I get the desire to go D in orientation. Seems middle of the road for me candidate and fit wise. Sean Payton (Broncos) - B-. Either he's going to genius his way into making me look dumb, or he's the ultimate hype heavy retread. Shane Steichen (Colts) - B. Meh. Could do worse, but seems very abrupt. Offensive Co-ordinator Bill O'Brien (Patriots) - A. He's returning and has done well in the past in the position. Bobby Slowik (Texans) - B-. SFs passing game has been good, not great. He didn't have much to work with though. Brian Schottenheimer (Cowboys) - C-. Super retread. Name recognition is a plus, results are a negative. Kellen Moore (Chargers) - B. Not sure what to make of him overall. Was a rising star, then dwindled a bit. McCarthy's role? Mike LaFleur (Rams) - A-. Great fit. Nuff said. Nathaniel Hackett (Jets) - B-. The HC gig failed, but he's a solid coordinator. Tim Kelly (Titans) - C+. Know almost nothing about the guy. Todd Monken (Ravens) - A+. Great fit for the style. Defensive Co-ordinator Brian Flores (Vikings) - A. Great hire for their needs. Ejiro Evero (Panthers) - A+. Fantastic hire. Jim Schwartz (Browns) - B-. Retread, but a good one. Joe Woods (Saints) - C-. Very meh hire, to me. Matt Burke (Texans) - C+. Decent hire. Don't know much about him. Ryan Nielsen (Falcons) - C+. See above. Steve Wilks (49ers) - B+. Not the best hire, but a very solid one. Vic Fangio (Dolphins) - A+. Slam dunk.
ClutchDJ
There’s always that one Coach the consensus were very high on when they were hired, but end up bombing at the end. Trying to figure out which one….

General Tso
Look, I'm not guaranteeing a Super Bowl win, but Belichick and Gruden both got traded for picks and won. If you could trade for a coach that elevates you into that status, wouldn't you?

aceinthehouse
I'm confused why Eric Bienemy & Greg Roman are not on the list above of O-Coordinators? They're only the 2 best available right now. 🤔
