NBA General Discussion

Thought about making this thread for general 'all teams' discussion since a lot of conversations seem to be a bit all over the place in free agency threads, trade deadline threads, specific team threads, gameday threads, ect. A lot of 'general' discussion is being shoved in threads that don't really fit so I thought to make this. If a General topic already exists, mods please delete.

So..... Ill go first.

Do you think this is a make or break season for the Raptors and will they 'rebuild' in the offseason to go away from a entire roster of 6'9" guys to form a more well rounded team? Outside of OG Anunoby who else on that roster could be getting dealt?

Gary Trent Jr / Fred VanVleet can both opt out this summer but there aren't a lot of teams with cap space. Siakam/OG are set to hit free agency in 2024 as well so all four of those guys are prime trade candidates this offseason and next year at the ASB. I think their biggest issues this season has been Scottie Barnes lack of development, he was one of the most highly valued players in the league during the offseason but took a step back this year. I like Siakam but he's better suited to be a #2 on a contending team and I think they're pretty much stuck as a good but not great team until they acquire a #1 or Scottie develops into one.

They are a strange team but they have a LOT of pieces other teams would give a ton for. They could get a Utah/Mitchell/Gobert-esq package back for both OG/Siakam

I agree with the Siakam point too, he is more of a Jaylen Brown to somebodies Jason Tatum rather than the other way around.
