I used OzPackerfan salary cap thoughts, with some slight changes.  The mock draft I used the PFF simulator with NFLDraftbuzz for my scouting reports.  

 

Packers name Brian Gutekunst GM and Russ Ball VP, balancing front ...

Gutes and Ball get down to work on the team's cap space issues.

 

2023 Cap Space as of this mock draft per Spotrac.com:  - $8,841,812

Restructures:

Rodgers:  Option bonus, workout bonus and restructure bonus are converted to the signing bonus.  + $20,329,000.  Cap hit $11,294,568.

Bakhtiari:  Roster, workout and restructure bonuses are converted to the signing bonus.  + $16,089,035.  Cap hit $12,700,000.

Alexander:  Roster bonus is converted to signing bonus.  + $12,061,760.  Cap hit $8,150,000.

Campbell:  Roster and workout bonuses are converted to signing bonus.  + $3,705,877.  Cap hit $4,450,000.

Smith:  Roster and workout bonuses are converted to signing bonus.  + $8,600,000.  Cap hit $4,440,000.

Douglas:  Roster bonus is converted to signing bonus.  + $2,450,000.  Cap hit $5,316,667.

Clark:  Roster, workout and restructure bonuses are converted to signing bonus.   + $5,973,000.  Cap hit $18,000,000.

O'Donnell:  Roster and workout bonuses are converted to signing bonus.  + $700,000.  Cap hit $1,675,000.

Cap space saved:  $69,908,672.  Total cap space after restructures:  $61,066,860.

 

Extensions:

Gary:  5 years $120,000,000 with $50,000,000 signing bonus.  Cap hit $ 8,000,000.  + $2,892,000.

Love:  5 years $120,000,000 with $50,000,000 signing bonus.  Cap hit $8,000,000.  - $4,940,189.

Cap space saved:  $2,048,189.  Total cap space after extensions:  + $63,115,049.

 

Roster Cuts:

Rhyan:  + $485,000.

Tenuta: + $870,000.

Garvin:  + $1,010,000.

Cotton:  + $750,000.

Cap space saved:  $3,115,000.  Total cap space after roster cuts:  + $66,230,049.

Randell Cobb is brought back, but in a different role.  His title is CPR, Chief of Player Relations.  Something like Rob Davis was with the Packers.

 

Packer Resigns:

Nijman:  4 years $20m with $4m signing bonus.  Cap hit $3m.

Nixon:  3 years $20m with $5m signing bonus.  Cap hit $5m.

Ford:  2 years $6m with $2m signing bonus.  Cap hit $2m.

Amos:  2 years $14m with $4m signing bonus.  Cap hit $5m.

He's taking prorated bonus cap hits from previous signing bonuses (contracts and restructures) and "converting" them to signing bonus, so prorating them again. It's extremely wrong.

Thank you for that information, I wasn't aware of that fact.  Thanks for pointing that out.
