Horrible trip to Moscow coming up with Palace at home on Saturday. Looking at the fixtures we don't have a horrible 5 or 6 game period until March/April. Jose seems to get the best of him... happy to have him. Good win today. Not our best and Palace are really bad, but we did what needed to be done. Martial is really special. I have been critical of him before, but can't deny that he has been impressive this season and proved he is worth being on this team. That he's turned into one of their most important out-field players, what does that say about their recruitment? Interesting thought. Last game, 7 players were SAF players. The comment about signings since SAF is partly true. Although you could argue Bailey and Blind were regulars until this season, when injury and Youngs form required a change. Shaw has been showing promise again the last few matches, but I'm not sure if he is ever going to be the type of player he was before his injury. I think Shaw needs a coach who is actively trying to get the best out of him, in order to return to what he was before. Mourinho isn't that guy. Mourinho isn't that guy. I looks like the board is forcing Jose to play Shaw and are not budging to buy somebody like Rose. One thing I'm very pleasantly surprised is how he's played several consecutive games now with no noticeable dip in performance, and I think that's a sign that he's learning how to pace himself better through games. That's something that I thought was missing from his game pre-and post-injury. If he can build from here, I think we'll have a good-to-potentially-great LB in Shaw yet, although it's still unclear if he'll ever manage to fulfill the potential he had prior to the leg break.
