goldfishwars
They've gone from crushing the Super Bowl champions to inflicting the only defeat of the Eagles this year, to getting dumped at home by a team that had shipped an average of 45 points over their previous three games. They've now lost five of the last six after their 5-0 start. Alex Smith was a legitimate MVP contender after five games, now he can't connect on deep passes and everything is going left to right. Kareem Hunt was averaging 143 yards per game over the first seven games and slid to just 58 over the past four. Did the Steelers playing cover-2 provide the template, or is there something else going on? Have they been found out? Can they get back on track? Xmad
Their defense is crap and lost some key players, the o-line has issues, Alex Smith was always going to revert back to Alex Smith, Kareem Hunt hit the rookie wall and Andy Reid isn't that good of a coach. It's the perfect storm for the Chargers to win the AFC west only to lose to the jaguars in the wildcard round.

Did the Steelers playing cover-2 provide the template, or is there something else going on? Have they been found out? Can they get back on track? That's basically the core of it. The OL isn't great, but it really wasn't when we were lighting teams up early on either. They dominated the Pats but that was about it. So that doesn't help, but it's certainly not the source of the issue. Hill, Kelce, and Hunt are all still playing quite well. Wilson is back which helps the receiving corp as well. So skill positions are fine, they're just not getting the appropriate opportunities (Smith has missed or misread Hill and Kelce a lot, and teams have steadily crept down in defense to focus on Hunt.) The defense is actually playing better than it did to start the year. Reggie Ragland has been a revelation and Sutton has adjusted well with the front 7. The defense stepping up is the only reason our past few games were even competitive. It's basically Smith v. zone.

SteelKing728
I think I've learned to stop reading so much into teams hot starts on the season. I don't even see them making the playoffs at this point. That's embarrassing!
Jeezla
What's up is Andy Reid went back to outsmarting himself instead of the other team. Good news KC fans, you'll likely have 10 more years of this.

He’s calling plays that are getting guys open, Smith just refuses to throw into zones. It might sound too simple, but that is really the root to all our offensive problems. He takes Kareem Hunt off the field on 3rd down. He's being dumb. If Smith isn't throwing into zones, then Andy needs to adjust his playcalling or start PM. He benched McNabb for being a weenie. Needs to do the same with Alex.

Danger
I've never thought Andy Reid was good at making adjustments mid season. That's one thing I do like about Pederson, he's much more adaptive and flexible with the way he goes about things in particular situations. We don't even know if Pederson will be in Philly in 3 years from now. Anything can happen.

I can't say that I like a particular trait of one coach better than another? I'm not saying Pederson is inherently a better coach that DOES remain to be seen. But ask any Eagles fan, Andy was stubborn, and Doug is not, I'm sure most of us would agree we prefer it this way.

Let's see if Pederson could win a playoff game first before we put him above Reid in any form..
