As others have stated good effort to pull all of this off. As a Saints fan, I'd probably go different directions in the 1st round and 3rd round. I think we are set on the OL for this year and taking a OL that early would essentially be a depth guy that could compete for reps in 2024 or beyond. I'd rather go a different direction there and with how you had your board at pick #29, I'd probably lean towards Darnell Washington at that spot. Our TE spot is somewhat of a question mark with Juwan Johnson being a free agent (me might bring him back still), but even if we do, Washington has a much higher upside. In round 3, I don't mind the player, but I feel we would be better off taking one of the explosive RB's given the uncertainty of the Kamara situation for next year (and beyond). Devon Achane or Tyjae Spears would be my perfect scenario in this draft if one of them is still there in the 3rd round. Other than that, I think it's a solid draft overall.

1 29. O'Cyrus Torrence | OL | Florida
 2 40. Keion White | DL | Georgia Tech
 3 71. Cedric Tillman | WR | Tennessee
 4 115. Zacch Pickens | DL | South Carolina
 5 148. Roschon Johnson | RB | Texas
 5 167. Quindell Johnson | S | Memphis
 7 229. Jeremiah Martin | EDGE | Washington
 7 260. Justin Shorter | WR | Florida

Juwan will almost assuredly be brought back for us.  DT is a much bigger need since we only have that one rotation guy no one knows the name of and likely Onyemata back, especially with both Kancey and Bresee available at #29.  Washington might have higher upside than Juwan, but considering how our offense plays out it wouldn't be nearly as impactful as someone like Kancey or Bresee that would improve the rest of the defense by either providing more pressure up the middle or by being able to help clog the lanes better than Onyemata could for the next 5-10 years.  Preferably both if we could trade up from #40 for the other :D

We could go DT as well, and I wouldn't be surprised. I also think there is a solid chance we bring back Juwan. With that said, Juwan isn't much of a blocker, he's a solid receiving threat, but I don't think he will ever be a top tier TE in that regard. He certainly does have some value for us though. A guy like Washington adds an entirely different element to our run game with his ability to pull and get down field as a blocker. He also never gave up a single pressure when put in pass block situations in college. As many Raiders fans have mentioned, Carr can be a good QB when he has good protection. A TE like Washington likely has significant value that goes way beyond just receiving stats. Having this "6th OL" type specimen likely opens up our offense even more as we have legit deep threats in Olave and Shaheed. With Washington on our team, we would be able to run some of those deep shots a bit more effectively giving Carr more time in the pocket. Sort of reminds me of a more talented Marcedes Lewis. There's a reason Lewis has stuck around as a regular starting TE at age 38, despite only putting up "solid" receiving stats, his value as a blocker has been immense. If we take Washington at pick #29, I'd be thrilled. If there's a top DT at pick #29 that we take, I'd also be happy with that as well. Just not a fan of OL at pick #29 given our current roster being pretty good all along the the OL (unless a true blue chipper were to slide...then maybe). A trade up for both would also be excellent!

This draft has a lot of really good TEs, using this mock draft alone, at #40 Michael Mayer from ND would be available and even Sam LaPorta went in the end of the 2nd so a trade up for him would be possible.  Heck with Washington going at #37 I could easily see a scenario where the Saints see Washington still on the board at the Rams pick and look to send #40 and a late round pick for the #36 pick for Washington.  I think an elite DT considering what we have there is more important than a TE, especially when there are so many good ones in this draft.  Tucker Craft goes after our pick at #71, Zach Kuntz is available at pick #115 etc.  Once again, I'm only against Washington at #29 because there is not just one, but multiple high end DT prospect available at #29 as well.  So whether it's the mini-Darnold in Kancey or a bigger run stuffer with the ability to generate some pressure in Bresee, both would improve our defense and make it a lot younger at the same time.

I have a feeling we see a run a TE’s in the back half of the 1st round going into the early 2nd round (much like we saw a huge run on WR in the middle of the 1st last year). Once one TE goes, I think that will set off a chain reaction. That said if we could pull off Washington in the 2nd that would be great too.

I’d love to see these types of open field blocks for a Kamara or Achane/Spears. We’d see in jump in explosive plays from our RB’s with Washington

You forgot to add pick #32 on your mock. You have it in the team sections on the bottom, but not in the main mock.

I kind of like the Steelers draft. It wouldn't be my favorite, but I'd get over it. I'm not in love with the Wright pick in the 1st.

Thanks man - sorted it now

I'd give it a D for the Raiders, if that's how our draft actually plays out I'll be so disappointed. What I've would've done if the board fell that way:

7. Tyree Wilson | Edge | Texas Tech

38. Drew Sanders | LB | Arkansas

70. Eli Ricks | CB | Alabama

109. Tyler Kuntz | TE | Old Dominion

143. Warren McClendon Jr | OT | Georgia

146. Kayshon Boutte | WR | LSU

174. Keondre Coburn | DL | Texas

Great for the Bengals, except not grabbing a slot WR.  I say give us Elijah Higgins there in the 6th/7th.  Not only does it give us a potential Boyd long term replacement, it's an incentive toi Tee Higgins, who wants to switch jersey number to #5.  Elijah Higgins issued 85, so Tee owes the league nothing in buying back the 85s.  Tee puts T Higgins on nameplate to alleviate any concerns the league will have over confusing the two.

I heard a great counter argrument for the Bengals not taking a punter this year.  Every time they've drafted a specialist, they've had 10+ draft picks.  They have 7 this year.  If they don't waste one on a specialist (punter in this case) then they should have their pick of the litter amongst the UDFA punters, as that will be the best place to likely win a job.

Jaylon Jones i a little old iirc, not sure if that pushes him down more or not.

Love love love Abanikanda at 165.

I'll be shocked if the Bengals don't either bring back Bell or sign one in FA, so S might not be high on the priorities list as we have returning special teamers at S depth and Tycen Anderson healthy after missing his rookie year last year.

I really like this draft outside of every DL you drafted. Yes, DL is a need, mostly IDL, but I don't like any of your 3 picks. Rest of the draft is solid.

@goldfishwarswell with my previous statement about going Kancey or Bresee at #29 for the Saints, preferably Kancey, if Philly doesn't take Bresee at #30 since Kancey isn't there, I think the Saints would be a good partner to trade up with the Chiefs at #31 to get Bresee as that makes their DT situations phenomenal for the next decade and will make the rest of the defense look better.  Now if the team would do it is another question, but I know I would.

This is definitely a draft where the Chiefs would be willing to move.

Now that they have Taylor and Omenihu in house, nothing is day #1 critical. Four day#2 picks would be a very useful thing.
