On surface, I hate this because Waller is a stud when healthy.

Long term, this looks good. He's had trouble staying healthy and the TE class is deep. Adds a pick in the top 100.

He's also a top 5 talent at the position. We have now created a large need that you better hope you can fill in this draft well.

When healthy, which he hasn't been. And he'll be 31.

I don't like it immediately. 12 mil and the draft pick need to go to good use.

It will be easier to swallow if we sure up the OL or add some good defensive pieces with it.

If this is to resign Jacob and keep Renfrow (who had a terrible year last year), I can live with it. But we better get a good tight end in this draft.

He wasn't last year, he was a liability. It just seemed to me he was distracted with going to WNBA games and the like (who allowed him to do that when the team was playing - if I was a team mate I’d have been livid).

Maybe he bounces back but he didn’t play well last year and had been injured in and off for two seasons so I don’t mind the trade as we’ve got plenty of receiving options. That cap can be used for D.
