Does the Rodgers trade REALLY solve NYJ's QB problem?

Getting a top 5 QB does in fact solve their QB problem in the short term.

Rodgers is just a short term solution for the Jets.  I doubt AR will play more than 2 more years so in 2025 they'll be back searching for another QB.

It always cracks me up when people say a team/signing/trade is a failure if they don't win the Super Bowl and uses that as some sort of justification for saying "a move failed".

Depends on what they give up. If the Jets give up a 1st for 1 season of Rodgers and fail to win a Super Bowl, how can it be spinned as anything but a failure? 1 season of play is a terrible return for a 1st round pick.

Yeah because everyone was posting Brady in their Top 5 QB's... no, vast majority was 9-11 range. And MANY, more than not, were saying Brady had declined when he had not declined what so ever. Just like Rodgers hasn't.

Brady joined a strong team that truly was a QB away from the promised land.  Is NY?  It will be interesting to see come December/January.

Even if it’s “just 1 season” and they make a nice playoff run that is a massive step in the right direction for that franchise and might give them time to develop another QB such as a Hendon Hooker type if they take him this year.

The Jets haven’t made the playoffs since 2010. They desperately need to shake things up to find some sort of success even if it’s just a short term solution. Super Bowl or bust is silly to me even in this scenario.

He's an upgrade over the rookie they had last year, but we've seen over and over what Rodgers can do.  He can win you some games and make some spectacular throws in the regular season.  After Week 18, we move on to that annual rite of the year:  Aaron Rodgers Excuse Week.  Unfortunately for Mr. Rodgers, he may find that the fans in New York aren't as forthcoming with excuses as he became used to in Green Bay.

In any case, he should provide some excitement for Jets fans during the season.  They do have a very good defense to pair up with him.

When was the last time that an AR led team wasn't a Super Bowl contender going into the season?

I mean the man had won back to back MVPs the season before last. It probably feels unnatural to be talking about the Jets as Super Bowl contenders, but that would be the true objective.

Wilson wasn't a rookie last season, but then he could have been a 5 year vet and still looked worse than the vast majority of rookie QBs.

He's a practice squad player. The Jets screwed themselves so bad when they won those meaningless games back in 2020.

Unless you are being sarcastic what does his vaccination status have to do with this ability on the gridiron?

I'd say nothing, but that's why folks irrationally hate him. They come up with other reasons, but if it weren't for that they wouldn't talk about him as negatively as they do. And yes, it was sarcasm. Folks want blood.
