Orleanz
*TRADE* Saints send picks 29, 115, and a 2024 5th round pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for pick 22. 21- Myles Murphy [DE; Clemson] The Saints defense took a step in the wrong direction in 2022. The defensive line, as a whole, was extremely disappointing. New Orleans has already begun to reconstruct their front four this off-season in free agency, and will continue to do so via the draft. Murphy possesses the frame and length that the Saints covet at the defensive end position, and he’s also an outstanding athlete. Murphy would add some much needed juice to the Saints’ pass rush rotation. 40 Keanu Benton [DT; Wisconsin] The Saints defense was at its best in recent years with a deep interior defensive line rotation. Adding a 6’3” 309 lb disrupter to the defensive line fills a hole left by David Onyemata in free agency. Benton was a full time starter for most of four seasons at Wisconsin and brings some much needed juice to a lackluster Defensive Tackle group. 71 Rashee Rice [WR; SMU] Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed both had impressive rookie seasons, but with the uncertainty of Michael Thomas’ health the Saints must address the Wide Receiver position. At 6’1 204, Rice is a good compliment to the receivers New Orleans already has in the building. The emphasis on high-end athletes continues with this selection. Rice posted a 9.52 RAS. 146 Dee Winters [LB; TCU] New Orleans will begin to look to fill the void that Kaden Elliss left at the third Linebacker spot. Winters is an undersized, but rangy linebacker with 4.4 speed. He will compete with D’Marco Jackson for playing time, and provide much needed depth at the position. 165 Cameron Brown [DB; Ohio State] The Ohio State to New Orleans pipeline continues with this selection. It looks like PJ Williams time in New Orleans may come to an end this off-season, which opens the door for a versatile Defensive Back like Brown. Brown is physical for the position and a willing run defender. *TRADE* The Saints sent picks 227 and 257 to the Las Vegas Raiders for pick 214. 214 Evan Hull [RB; Northwestern] The Saints were ultra thin at RB before the Jamaal Williams signing and a potential Alvin Kamara suspension looks to be coming. Hull provides depth at the position along with upside to become a role player in the future. With an RAS of 9.30, Hull possesses exceptional athleticism for the position. JMG5
I would be okay with this. We don't improve our interior pass rush with this draft, but I like the prospects you selected in the first few rounds.
