Wanted to go with JSN here, but practically, if the Packers have LVN at 6, Murphy is going to be right there with him.

It feels like the top 5 Edge players should all be ahead of JSN with JSN being the default if they are all off the board at 15. For that to happen it would probably take a situation where only 2 QB's are taken in the top 14.

Are you including Nolan in the top 5? (Anderson/Wilson/LVN/Murphy). I could see it play out that way, especially given the historical preferences of the guy making the decisions, but if the Packers have the option and decide to take JSN over an LVN/Murphy/Smith, I'll be both surprised, but also thrilled. I may be higher on him than most but I sincerely believe JSN changes our offense Week 1, especially in terms of attacking the MOF. I think he's special in that regard and I think our offense is thirsting for that type of boost for a new young QB.

Kind of agree with all of that. The but to that is JSN anything more than complementary piece to the offense, if that is the case the 15th overall pick is too pricey for that player. This is where having the second 1st round pick would have given the room to spend one on a luxury like JSN. Doubtful it happens but would be fun.

Yes.  #15 is too high to take a receiver with JSN's measurables.  IMO.

He's big enough, but not really #1 WR big.  He's fast enough, but not really #1 WR fast.

And the offense should feature Watson and the passing game.  So complimentary.  Also...with how he could produce in the slot, his stats may look like a #1.  Watson is going to take a lot of coverage with him.

JSN would be a luxury pick, if we had anything else at WR that we could depend upon.  But we don't.

I'm looking at this as what I think GB's board will be, so...

For me it's the fact that the top of this draft is straight doodoo.  I don't particularly like Murphy, Bresee and Skoronski shouldn't be on this list, and Jones is way too raw to be taken in the middle of the 1st round.  I like Kancey but his size raises questions and I don't see GB drafting him.  Nolan Smith is a damn good player but smaller than what GB has been drafting at Edge in recent years.  If they're going to start straying from that then Smith is a definite possibility here.  Witherspoon is lighter in the pants than GB has historically liked so that rules him out for me.  Branch is ok but not in round 1 and I'm not sure he's the right fit for this defense, anyway.  So then it comes down to the good players at non-premium positions.  I think Bijan is better suited to a gap/power scheme and I'm not taking a tight end at 15 unless I know for sure he's the second coming of Gronk.  I'm not sold on QJ (yes he's athletic as hell and is a YAC machine but his toughness and physicality are big question marks for me), so that leaves JSN.  He'll be a major target for Love and he's willing to do the dirty work in the run game.  As long as the hamstring isn't an issue I have no problem with him at 15 as his route running is elite.  So for me it's JSN here, for Love's sake if nothing else.

EDIT: I should say that I do think Murphy could be fairly high on GB's board, but I think he's a bit overrated so I'm not putting him above JSN in this exercise even if he's at a more premium position.

Bresee might be my "throw the remote" pick at 15.

Current top 5 for me:

2) Derick Hall

5) Quentin Johnston

6) Nolan Smith

7) JSN

😎 Myles Murphy

Going from memory here...Hall....hits a lot of GB EDGE threshholds, doesn't he?

Heard him give an interview on Sirius XM....came across as very intelligent, too.

I will say that I will complain like a petulant child if we take an OL.  Just because it is not shiny, new, or fun.  I don't care if I need socks for Christmas, I don't want socks for Christmas.
