It was close enough between Murphy and Smith that I'll let them battle it out here.

I get JSN at 7. I do not get Johnston at 8 tho. Not over the EDGEs, tackles or even DBs (and Mayer/Bijan). JSN gets the nod because he's ready day one and provides a likely security blanket for 10. Johnston needs work with a full route tree and isn't really a blocker despite the size. I'd have him much lower on our board. I'd have Michael Mayer over him as well. Not only is he the most complete TE in the class, much like JSN, he's a day one security blanket.

QJ is no more raw than Watson and he just put up 850 yards last year if you account for a full 17 game season.

Route running has become really overrated with today's schemes. Watson is nothing special there, it's the scheme and his speed that open him up.

Remind me when we took Watson...

I wouldn't be surprised at all if GB has Will McDonald ahead of Nolan Smith on their board.  Better frame, better length, better bend.  I think McDonald has the higher upside.

I was thinking we should probably add McDonald to the list above. He's in the conversation by this point.

And we got production right away, so we shouldn't be scared to do it again.

Sure...in the 2nd round. Taking raw wideouts with limited route trees in college has certainly worked well for teams that invested 1sts in them.

Treylon Burks and Brandon Aiyuk were the last two "specimens" I remember that worked a limited route tree.

Not really sure either team has reasons to regret that. Athletes in space, that's football now, this isn't 2010 anymore where we iso our guys and may the best man win.

Corey Coleman? And we don't know whether Burks works or not. Too soon to say.

Just don't see QJ being high on our board at 15. We can find raw RAS specimens later in the draft. Either take the day 1 stud or take the more valuable position. I like Johnston but not for us.
