2023 NBA Playoffs: (2) Memphis Grizzlies vs (7) Los Angeles Lakers

Teams have been doubling AD in the post on every touch lately and the Lakers haven't figured out how to make teams pay for it. Of course a lot of that has to do with they just aren't a great shooting team but the Grizzlies should not let AD play one on one until the Lakers start taking advantage of the doubles. As good of a defender as Jackson is, if he is mainly singled up against AD, that's a big advantage for the Lakers.

DLO was non-existent last night and does not have the best of histories playing in big games. He's going to need to be able to run the offense and score at least 17-20 a game for the Lakers to have a real shot in this series. Brooks is going to be picking Bron up full court and getting the ball out of his hands.

The Lakers defensive game plan is almost always going to be the same and they will be willing to give up the three ball to protect the paint....Brooks/Morant/Jackson in particular are going to get a whole a lot of open looks from the perimeter and they will need to hit them or else this can get real icy.

If the Lakers turn the ball over like they did last night then they will get ran out of the building. But if they can protect the ball and slow the game down in the 4th quarter? Then Bron can do what he's done for damn near two decades in the playoffs and pull off the tight games by making just enough plays.

Lakers in 6

This is an interesting series because I feel like the loser has to blow it up.  If Lebron and AD can't carry a team to third round or more, they have very little chance of doing it with them both a year older.  Would make sense to see what they could get for AD and/or Lebron if it doesn't work this year.  If Memphis loses in the first round as a 3 seed, they need to change up the supporting cast around Ja and JJJ.

The Lakers have been a great defensive team since the trade deadline and Lebron is always the trump card.  But Memphis is deep and and has youth on their side.  Will be an interesting series and I figure it goes 6 either way but think the Lakers pull it out.

I can honestly see this series going either way.  Memphis has been atrocious on the road this year at 16-25, but nearly unbeatable at home.  I've got either the Grizz in 5 or Lakers in 6.  If the Lakers can steal one of the first two games in Memphis, they win the series.  If Memphis holds serve, I think they win in 5.
