Why not, let's give this a go with combine and the major free agency moves in the book.

Rules:

There are two polls - your first choice will count as 2pts, your second as 1pt. If players have the same score after 24 hours, the pick will go to the player with the most first place votes.

I will take poll options from the website below, which aggregates all media big boards - so if your guy isn't on the board, don't blame me.

https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/big-boards/2023/consensus-big-board-2023?pos=ALL

Your vote can be who you would take, or who you think the team will take - it doesn't matter.

Draft Order:

1. Carolina Panthers - C.J. Stroud | QB | Ohio State

2. Houston Texans - Bryce Young | QB | Alabama

3. Arizona Cardinals - Will Anderson | EDGE | Alabama

4. Indianapolis Colts - Anthony Richardson | QB | Florida

5. Seattle Seahawks - Jalen Carter | DL | Georgia

6. Detroit Lions - Christian Gonzalez | CB | Oregon

7.  Las Vegas Raiders - Devon Witherspoon | CB | Illinois

8.  Atlanta Falcons - Tyree Wilson | EDGE | Texas Tech

9.  Chicago Bears - Paris Johnson Jr. | OT | Ohio State

10. Philadelphia Eagles - Myles Murphy | Edge | Clemson

11. Tennessee Titans - Broderick Jones | OT | Georgia

12. Houston Texans - Jaxon Smith-Njigba | WR | Ohio State

13. New York Jets - Peter Skoronski | OT | Northwestern

14. New England Patriots - Darnell Wright | OT | Tennessee

15. Green Bay Packers - Lukas Van Ness | EDGE | Iowa

16. Washington Commanders - Joey Porter Jr | CB | Penn State

Oh man have I got opinions about this. Branch would have been a good pick, we need a nickel corner and a safety opposite Mckinney, but he is gone.

Here are the best options for the Giants at this point:

Bryan Bresee- The Giants are about to pay Dexy a lot of money, as they should, but Leo Williams is in the last year of his deal and is getting paid a ton this year. DT is a premium position, and Bresee is arguably the best player on the board. He wouldn't need to be 'the guy' here, as he'd be playing next to Dexy.

WR- There are 2 options here, and I think the Giants prefer Flowers over Johnston. Flowers is such a Dabes WR; he gets open, is super shifty, and plays everywhere. If you are going WR, Flowers is a better choice than Johnston for the Giants.

Cam Smith- The Giants have a huge need at CB2. Cam Smith, while maybe not necessarily a 1st round talent, is the best CB available and fits what Wink is looking for. He's definitely an option here.

Ade Adebawore- sleeper choice, but Schoen is a subscriber in the 'you can never have too many pass rushers' methodology. Adebawore has athletic testing numbers that rival last year's #1 overall pick Travon Walker. He's got inside/outside versatility. He can rush the passer. He is absolutely in consideration here.

JMS- Very small chance the Giants go C at 25, but their approach at C this offseason has been somewhat similar to their approach to RT last year; get out of free agency without one, potentially knowing you are dead set on taking one in the draft to start year 1? Maybe, but C is a less important position than RT, and good centers are found regularly in the middle rounds.

I'd rank all those choices as follows:

Great options- Flowers, Bresee

Good options- Cam Smith, Adebawore

Ok options- Johnston, JMS

I went Flowers/Bresee as my 1 and 2.

Voted Sanders/Campbell. The Giants didn't roster NFL caliber linebackers last year and there are like 3 draftable LBs in this class. They could hope one is there in round 2 but I didn't like waiting and no one else on the board jumps out at me as a can't miss talent at a higher tier position.

Wink regularly only fields 1 actual LB on the field at a given time; the Giants play sub packages more than everyone else. Okereke is the one real LB on the team. He's going to be playing a lot.

Drew Sanders and Campbell are not first round caliber players. There are much better options available here.

Fair but my vote is my vote.

I agree with the linebacker take, but I don't really care about drafting one at the end of round 1 here. I think you can get a very good one at this point of the second round, so I'm going to put that aside. But they do need to fix this because they were massively exploited defensively. The problem, however, is that this team also could probably use a center, and if you don't take one here, you could also really need that second round pick for that position. JMS likely won't be there in round 2, but someone like Tippman  / Wypler will be.

I could see the Giants preferring Flowers to Johnston, however the latter is the type of receiver I think that they need, to be honest. If he pans out, he's a true X receiver.

I went with those two as my picks

This overall consensus mock is more realistic in terms player, value, needs and selections than any mock that bloggers or writers have put out.

Obviously trades are going to blow it all up.  But if it was straight selections this is pretty good.

I did not vote for this one, but the Giants all of a sudden are solid at center?  Is Bredeson solid for that spot, I thought he was more of a OG?    And LG is a question for them and they did get Hassenauer so maybe they think that is set even though I have them going center right now.

At WR they got Hodges, Slayton, Campbell then Shepard, Robinson and Crowder.  Not sure WR is that big of a need but whatever.  Could say another edge or a safety is a bigger need than WR.
