So the Bengals drop from #12 all the way to #28, and don't get even a second rounder?  So what did we get for this?

Without a great deal, I say we stay at #12, take Orlando Brown, and take ragnow in round 2

Probably a 2019 1st and something else. New Orleans doesn’t have a 2nd this year.

Nelson is a good pick.

In the second I'd prefer to double dip with OL or go with ILB/EDGE/RB.  But I'm a fan of Davis and he'd be a decent value there, so not a bad pick at all.

1st round pick im not exactly thrilled with but i really like a starting OG and backup center depth in the 2nd round.  Frank is a really solid looking player for our scheme.  He moves extremely well for his size and plays with outstanding leverage.

I would take a WR later that is a top notch kick returner as well while looking for a DT or CB earlier i think.   Will say though if it did happen on draft day i wouldn't bash the pick incase Gabriel leaves.

Browns getting Chubb and James is nice and all. But man, if I was a fan of theirs I'd riot. They just can't keep avoiding taking a QB.

As a Chiefs fan, I like the Alexander pick.

My logic is if Hue stays, they could easily go out and acquire McCarron for the same deal that fell through before the deadline. It doesn't appear they like the QBs at the top of the draft (again).

I was stunned to see you have the Browns passing on the top two QBs - but after reading your explanation, I can see why you thought that.

That being said, I think it is a virtual certainty that a QB is coming at the top of the draft. For these reasons:

I can't see Hue returning. Some of the play calling has been so boneheaded this year, I can make the argument I see more efficient offenses 10 times a year on Friday nights. I think Sashi will mandate that a condition of Hue returning to the Browns is him adding an offensive coordinator. To which, Hue declines - and resigns. New coach means new QB ( I would draft 2) and sign a credible FA veteran QB. In that situation, Kizer may have the support he needs to grow faster.

I don't another tear down to the studs is wise. This front office has brought in talent. But I think this is the year they go after their QB.

Can Fitpatrick play CB? If not, then its a wasted pick. Bucs need to trade up for Chubb or the draft is a bust.

He plays slot corner fairly often. Think of him as a player in the mold of Micah Hyde/Tyrann Mathieu in terms of role.

Nah Bucs need an outside corner badly. Hargreaves has picked up the slack as a decent NCB and might be a good #2 one day.
