Humble_Beast
my last mock draft of the season: R1- Christian Gonzalez CB- I'm taking this potential defensive cornerstone. He has it all, with the ceiling to be an All Pro. ALTERNATIVE would be Jalen Carter/Will Anderson/AR-15 if they are there. I expect all 3 to be gone. R2- Felix Anudike-Uzomah Edge- we get a great edge prospect who should develop into a plus starter. Jones and FAU can platoon his rookie year, and he will be his replacement in 2024. Alternative: Isiah Foskey Felix Anudike-Uzomah Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com R3- Jack Campbell LB - another boost to a defensive unit. Hopefully Campbell drops and he can be our new leader on defense. He is big, has instincts, and tested athletically. Jack Campbell Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com Alternative: Noah Sewell, Daiyen Henley R3- Karl Brooks DT- if is there, I'm taking that risk. He might go in the later 3rd, but I really like the potential. Reminds me of Maxx. Small school, super athletic. I'm not sure if he can be a plus starter but I think he can be a good depth piece on the DL. He could be a major sleeper. We need more talent on the DL! R4-Jordan Battle S- he would be a steal in the 4th. He can be the 3rd safety and push to start over time. He can develop into a plus starter. Battle didn't do so hot at combine but he is a baller. Alternative: Riley Moss as a safety convert. Jordan Battle Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com Alternative: Luke Wypler, Ricky Stromberg- could be a sweet spot to draft a starting center if Karl Brooks is not there R5- Andrew Vorhees G- I would draft and give him a redshirt year. He was a day2 prospect before his injury. Andrew Vorhees Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com Alternative: Anthony Bradford, Jordan McFadden, Braeden Daniels - I think if we hit on the prospect, we can draft a starting guard on day 3. Atleast depth and more competition R5- Josh Whyle TE- I think this guy is flying under the radar. This is a crazy good TE class, I think we can nab a really good prospect on day 3. Whylie is a good receiving TE, with starting potential. He probably could use one year of coaching and work on his blocking (bulking). Alternative Elijah Higgins- I like him as a WR- TE convert. He compares to Jordan Reed minus the injuries. Same as Whyle, would be in the mix as a rookie with a chance to be a steal. Waller replacement Josh Whyle Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com R5- Trey Palmer WR- He has home run speed, and can run all the routes. He can also play the slot. Our only burner is Phillip Dorsett who is over 30, so he can fall off with speed any time. DJ Turner is more like practice squad talent. Palmer could also possibly be Renfrow replacement. alternatives: Jalen Cropper, Matt Landers (big burner), Tank Dell (prolly going in 4th/early 5th but might be there) R6: Jake Haener QB- worth the risk this late. I wouldn't expect a late round QB to develop into a starter. I have no doubt Haener could beat out Hoyer/Gabers as QB2. QB2 is a very important role. Haener is a sleeper Jake Haener Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com R6: Jon Gaines C- I like Gaines late as a center sleeper. Alternative: Olu Oluwatimi - he might drop Jon Gaines II Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com R7: Marte Mapu LB- Our LB unit depth sucks, I expect us to double dip with LBS. Marte has potential if he bulks up. Backup and special teamer who could possibly develop. NYRAIDER put me on this guy, and Marte stock is rising. Alternative: Dee Winters, Ivan Pace, Owen Pappoe, Yaya Diaby Marte Mapu Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com R7: Keaton Mitchell RB- Jacobs might hold out, would be smart to draft another RB. Keaton Mitchell Draft and Combine Prospect Profile | NFL.com Alternatives: Tank Bigsby, Kenny Mcintosh, Dewayne McBride, Sean Tucker Quick Summary: This would be defensive heavy draft. We need an influx of talent across the board on that side of the ball. We also draft potential starting C, G, Slot WR, and TE. Wild Card would be Haener. We will give Jimmy G one shot to be the man at QB, or we are going QB high in 2024 with an upcoming defense. RaidersAreOne
Looks good. I don't believe there have been many mock drafts in this forum surprisingly? Usually there's a good amount.
Dessie
Yup solid, I would like a guard ideally but got guys I like. Love the Brooks pick and Whyle is a TE I like a lot. Landers is someone I like in round 7 so interesting where you have him.
ronjon1990
If I had to....with no trades (though 2 selections in anticipation of moves) 7. CB- Preferably Gonzalez, but he keeps going before us. I'd take Porter Jr. A bit early, but I think I'd be happy with him. Nobody else routinely available does it for me. 38. Mazi Smith, DT Michigan. I'm a believer. Dude is gonna be a menace. 70. Noah Sewell, LB. We need LB and he has plenty of potential. 100. Daiyan Henley or Henry To'oTo'o, LB. Good solid picks round out the LB corps. 109. DJ Johnson, Edge. Potential heir to Jones. Impressed me at the combine. 141. Andrew Vorhees, OG. Probably a RS year, but he's great value here. 144. Tyjae Spears, RB or Will Mallory, TE. Jacobs' future is TBD. Tag and trade? Prep to trade next year? If that's not in the cards, we could use a potential future TE. 174. Garrett Williams, CB or Jaxon Kirkland, OL. Depth CB or a sleeper OL that can conceivably play OG or OT. Either could be a rotational cog and both have decent growth potential. 204. Jadon Hasselwood, WR. Potential steal. Big target and if he can be coached up to potential, he'd allow one of Adams or Meyers to play the slot in 3 WR sets. Allows a potential move of Renfrow. 214. Karl Brooks or Cory Durden. DT depth. 220. Viliami Fehoko, EDGE. Depth piece with potential. Lacked competition, but stood out like one would want. 231. Adrian Martinez, QB. Probably a UDFA grade in truth, but I would grab his rights via late round flyer. Maybe he contributes as a QB. Maybe a different position. He's a good athlete and a good HC should be able to find something for him to do.
101Raider
Nice draft, would definitely be pleased. Not a huge fan of the Brooks pick, but kinda nitpicking there.
