The Draft is a few days away so it’s time to add another chapter to the DC Forum Mock Draft championships. We skipped a couple of years focusing on the “Build the Board” series, but no excuse this year so let’s go.

Last contest was won by someone named @ChalkieTalkie. That winning mock draft is still the only post ever made by Chalkie on this website. The all time standings are knotted up at the top. @Texas_OutLaw7 and @Revenantare in a two-way tie for first. T_O7 won the 2018 contest so he gets the slight nod in the standings. Will we crown a new champion this year? Will T_O7 retain the title of DC Forum Draft Guru? Will Revenant finally bring home the crown after placing 3rd and 2nd. Will Chalkie make his 2nd ever post and make a rare appearance after 3 years to defend his title? Will we get some new blood from old members this year like @Nextyearfordaboyz @matt79511or @The_Slamman? Will @Tony7188 make it through the draft weekend without editing his post? All this and more at the 2023 DC Forum Mock Draft Championship!

How to Play

1. Post a full 1st round mock draft.

2. If you get the right player paired up with the correct team you will receive 2 points for that pick. If you mock Stroud to the Texans at 2 and they select Stroud at any point in the first round you will receive 2 points.

3. If you get the player wrong but the team drafts someone that plays the same position, you will get 1 point. For instance, if you mock Stroud to the Texans at 2 and they draft Anthony Richardson instead, you will receive 1 point.

4. Don’t worry about trades! If you think Stroud goes to the Texans at 2 but they trade back to 4 and get him, you still get the 2 points. If they take him with any of their 1st round picks 2, 12, or a pick they trade for… you will get 2 points. If you think Atlanta trades up from pick 8 to pick 2 for Bryce Young, just mock Young to them at 8.

Example: If the Texans take Stroud at any point in round 1 you will get 2 points. If they take Levis you get 1 point. You can not mock the same player to two different teams, or to the same team twice. If you are sure that Houston takes one of the QBs in round 1 but you don't know which or when, it is okay to mock Stroud to them at 2, and Richardson to them at 12, but you can't mock those QBs to anyone else. If they actually take Stroud you will get 2 points for that pick but no points for the other pick unless they actually take two QBs in round one. If they take Richardson at 2 you would still get 2 points because you mocked him at 12, but no point would be earned for the Stroud pick at 2.

5. All DBs are counted together. So if you mock a CB to a team and they draft a safety you get 1 point.

6. DTs, LBs, and Edge rushers are three separate positions. I don't care if a team drafts Jalen Carter to play DE in a 3-4. He isn't an Edge rusher and will not be counted as such.  Will Anderson, and Nolan Smith will be considered edge rushers. Not LBs. LBs will be off ball LBs like Drew Sanders and Jack Campbell. If you mock Will Anderson to someone and they draft Nolan Smith or Trent Murphy, you will get 1 point. If they draft Jalen Carter or Drew Sanders, you get nothing.

7. If a team trades out of the first round, no points will be awarded for their pick. If a team trades into the first round you can score off of it. For instance, if you mock Joey Porter Jr. to the Steelers at 17 but they pick O’Cyrus Torrence, or trade out of the 1st round completely,  you wont get points. But let's say they trade back into the first round and draft Forbes at 27... you will get 1 point from your pick.

!!!Getting the Cowboys first round selection correct is worth 5 points.!!!

Finally, pick 5 players for the Cowboys to draft after round 1.

If any of your 5 players end up drafted by the Cowboys at any point AFTER round 1, you will receive 3 points a player.

Wow, talking to people on the internet is funny. The image I had of you in my head was definitely not a 27 year old.

Also, I’m just now realizing that kids who were born after I started posting on FF are now in college. Jeez.

Yeah I started posting here as a teenager. I’m not big on personal details but now that there’s like 8 of us here, whatever

It is crazy how long some of us have been here. I remember finding out Dallas signed Marco Rivera from this website.

That offseason we signed, iirc, Marco Rivera, Jason Ferguson, Anthony Henry, Drew Bledsoe, and Aaron Glenn.

Kids these days don’t know how we used to be free agency playas 🤣
