ESPN (I know...) were discussing whether this current Jets skill unit is the best Aaron would have had in his career so far. Not including OL.

I thought I better turn this over to FF....

notes

- Nelson was there in 2010 but started only 1 game

-Cobb was there in 2011 but no starts

- in 2012 4 different RBs had roughly the same number of starts due to injuries

- 2015 Nelson missed the entire season

-Some years have a RB2 that could be added (Dillon in 21, for example)

-The names in the poll is a guide, obviously others caught passes and run in TDs...but lack of room to write them all in

If anything is wrong, I got it from a number of websites so don't kill me plz

Definitely 2011, the depth was just nuts even if Driver was on the way down. 2014 has a notable downgrade at TE, RB is about a wash between Grant/Starks and Lacy/Starks, 2014 WRs had Cobb and Adams in place of Driver and Jennings, but people often forget that Adams struggled early and had a lot of doubters. 2011 also had James Jones further down the roster.

2014 might pull in a little (but not by too much) if you factor in the offensive lines, but 2011 definitely takes it for skill positions. No other year is particularly close (esp when you factor in injuries etc).

Agreed. I think Adams joining in 14 might sway people. Even though he was nowhere near the Adams we know now

This whole "Aaron Rodgers never had weapons" thing is so bizarre. I broke down all the years he started and almost every single year outside of maybe his last year and 2015 he had at least above average groups overall with a lot of them being stacked with at least two position groups being above average to straight up top in the NFL. That doesn't even count that outside of a few years here or there Rodgers has consistently had an elite O - line as well.

😄2008: RB - Ryan Grant | WR - Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, James Jones | TE - Donald Lee, Jermichael Finley

Good RB with a pretty stacked WR roster. Donald Driver was getting old but Greg Jennings was coming into his own and a young Jordy Nelson & James Jones is a great #3/4. TE below average with Donald Lee/rookie Finley.

😄2009: Same as 2009 except Jermichael Finley took the next step and became a pretty decent target at TE.

😄2010: RB - Brandon Jackson, James Starks| WR - Same as 2008/2009 | TE - Jermichael Finley, Quarless

Pretty bad RB play for the majority of the season with James Starks breaking out in the playoffs. WRs corp still stacked with peak Jennings & Ascending Nelson/Jones. Started great at TE but Finley season ending injury turned it into a bad group.

😆😆2011: RB - Starks & Grant | WR - Jennings, Nelson, Jones, Cobb | TE - Finley, Quarless

One of the best supporting casts in the NFL. Jennings & Nelson were both legit #1 options with Jones being a great #3 and rookie Cobb in the slot who was already explosive. Above average RB room with a two headed monster of Starks & Grant. Finley is one of the better TEs in the NFL.

🙂2012: RB - Too Many to count (Injuries) | WR - Same as 2011 | TE - Finley, Crabtree

RB room takes a huge step back due to injuries. Starks, Benson, Grant, Harris, and even Kuhn had to start some games. WRs still top class in the NFL, TE still held down with Finley.

😄2013: RB - Lacy & Starks | WR - Cobb, Nelson, Jones | TE - Quarless

Great RB duo once again in pre cheeseburger Lacy & Starks. WR corp lost Jennings but Cobb is an elite slot receiver with Nelson being one of the best WRs in football, and Jones being a great #3. Finley gets injured causing pretty much the last year of good TE play up to today.

😄2014:  RB - Same | WR - Cobb, Nelson, Adams | TE - Quarless, Rodgers

Still a great RB duo, WR corp lost Jones but replaced with with fricken Davante Adams. TE play still garbage however Richard Rodgers wasn't the worse TE in the league.

😒2015: RB - Same | WR - Jones, Cobb, & Adams | TE - Same

RB duo still good but cheeseburger Lacy coming into play, Nelson lost to injury before season causing Jones to come back with Cobb (Still good) and 2nd year Adams. WR corp below average for the 1st time in Rodgers entire career. TE is still a dumpster fire.

😄2016: RB - Montgomery, Lacy | WR - Nelson, Adams, & Cobb | TE - Cook, Rodgers

Montgomery was good but didn't last and Lacy was in full cheeseburger mode. Bad group all around. WR is once again one of the best in the league with Nelson, ascending Adams, & a great slot in Cobb, Jared Cook solidifies the TE group bringing them up to average.

🙂2017: RB - Williams, Jones | WR - Adams, Cobb, & Nelson | TE - Bennett, Kendricks

Didn't know it yet but had one of the best 1-2 RB duos in the league, Adams takes over as the new #1 but an aging Cobb & Nelson are a decent 2 & 3. TE group returns to garbage with swapping Cook with the headcase in Bennett & mediocre Kendricks.

🙂2018: RB - Same | WR - Adams, MVS, Cobb, & Equanamius SB | TE - Graham, Kendricks

RB duo still one of the best in the league, WRs held up by Adams but a rookie MVS was a great deep threat with old Cobb & promising EQB holding up 3 & 4. Graham at TE was average but not that great. Kendricks still mediocre.

🙂2019: RB - Same | WR - Adams, Lazard, MVS | TE - Graham, Lewis

RB duo still one of the best in the league, Adams perennial #1 WR, Cobb ages out for Lazard who is a decent #2/3, and MVS continues to be a dangerous but inconsistent deep threat. Graham 1 year older is pretty disappointing. Lewis joins the team but it mostly there for good looks and blocking.

😄2020: RB - Jones, Williams, Dillon | WR - Adams, Lazard, MVS | TE - Tonyan, Lewis

RB duo even more dangerous with the new Lacy in Dillon, Adams considered best WR in the league with Lazard and MVS providing pretty decent 2 & 3 options if unspectacular. TE was above average for the first time with Tonyan having a great year and Lewis being a blocking maniac.

🙂2021: RB - Dillon, Jones | WR - Adams, Lazard, MVS, Cobb | TE - Same

RB duo doesn't miss a beat replacing WIlliams with Dillon. Adams still the best WR in the NFL with similar supporting cast in Lazard,MVS, and the readdition of an even older Cobb, TE the same but everyone takes a step back and is pretty mediocre.

😒2022: RB - Jones, Dillon | WR - Lazard, Doubs, Watson, Cobb, Watkins | TE - Same

RB duo still spectactular, WR duo takes a huge step back relying on Lazard to be a #1 with two rookies Doubs/Watson to have to play major roles due to Watkins/Cobb injuries. Pretty bad overall. Tonyan is a one hit wonder in 2020 and the group as a whole is bad.

Some really good weapons there, throughout

Rodgers for the majority of his career has always had at least two premier weapons (WR or RB) and a very good OL. Only real time you could say he didn't was this past season. But there's this "no 1st rounders" moniker so that means the cast has been crap
