PrplChilPill
Packers>Bears>>>>>Lions Though how Chicago had the number 1 pick, and only made one pick (that late) is a head scratcher for me.
swede700
I find the North, including the Vikings, to have the most head-scratching drafts of any division. It doesn't mean that it'll turn out bad for any of them, they just don't make much sense. Maybe they're all just Draft Wizards like Brz is a Cap Wizard, but I'm confounded by every team's picks. SemperFeist
I think each team added some good talent, but I certainly question the value. The Lions are building a strong roster, but passing on some outstanding defensive talent for a running back is puzzling. Especially a running back who isn’t viewed as an every down bell cow type. C Jack Campbell for the Lions will be a great player, he’ll probably have a similar career with the Lions as Greenway did with the Vikings. Drafting an off the ball linebacker in the top 20 is another questionable value, but Campbell will give the Lions defense a great leader and an every down player. B The Bears punting on drafting Jalen Carter is a miss in my mind, and I don’t think they drafted the best offensive lineman on the board. For the worst team in the league last year, and a roster with plenty of holes, it felt like the Bears drafted for need rather than BPA, and that’s probably not a good approach. But Wright will still come in and be the starting RT, which fills a hole and helps protect the player that they absolutely need to find success. B The Packers drafted a boom/bust type player. I am one who really liked what I saw from Van Ness, so I think that the Packers got a good player, but I think that there are some pretty strong questions for the FO on how they are going to give Love the best chance to succeed? And while I like the player they took, I think they passed on better players, who would have a greater overall impact. C

Got Addison in the range he was expected to go Packers: D+ - there’s something about him I’m not head over heels about, like he’s a 2nd round pick that got inflated due to the success of other similarly built prospects in the past. Not extremely productive in college Bears: B+ - I’m of the impression that there isn’t another player we could’ve taken that would’ve made more sense for us. Carter doesn’t fit Chicago’s vibe and they gained a 4th to not take a guy they weren’t taking anyway. I love the Wright pick Lions: D- - it’s not that the players taken don’t have value, but they were significant reaches. There were rumblings Campbell wouldn’t have lasted til the 2nd but there’s no excusing taking Gibbs this early. I think they’re in for a rude awakening with him imo

SteelKing728
I don't think any of them had a bad draft, but none are particularly good. Detroit had a weird draft. The value is way off with a RB/non edge LB in the first. Green Bay is attempting to help Love but relying on rookies is a huge gamble. Chicago probably did the best. Stevenson and Dexter are A+ picks. Don't like the other picks at all. Edited April 29, 2023 by SteelKing728
