Another prediction I have after getting through this class and peeking at next year, Gute won't take a RB earlier than 5/6/7 this year. We saw it last year with Gute passing on taking an OL after three straight years of 3x OL picks (and most likely again this year), last year was a weak OL class, this year is great. He waited to pick from a position of strength.

We may be looking at an abnormally strong RB class in 2025, Ollie Gordon OK State, Omarion Hampton UNC, Quinshon Judkins OSU, Treyveon Henderson OSU, Jaydn Ott Cal, Donovan Edwards Michigan, Tahj Brooks Texas Tech, Devin Neal Kansas, Damien Martinez (transfer portal), Ashton Jeanty Boise State all are established runners still in college, I'd put Gordon, Hampton, Judkins, Henderson as RB1 this year. Maybe Donovan Edwards too, it'd be close. Etienne could blow up at Georgia, CJ Baxter is the lone guy at Texas now, Tawee Walker will get lots of run for the Badgers, and there's always 2-3 that come out of nowhere.

Don't chase a poor class Gute, just let Jacobs and Dillon handle it, pick from a spot of value next year.

I didn't know the 2025 RB class was shaping up to be a strong group, but since Dillon signed, I've been assuming RD5 was probably as early as GB would go for a RB.  I don't see much point in going with an earlier RB when Jacobs/Dillon are set to take the bulk of the RB snaps this season.

I mean if it was a strong draft, you do the same thing we did in 2020 and grab RB3, who becomes RB2 next year, but it's just not sound strategy unless a Brooks/Benson fall to rd 3 or Wright falls to our 4th.

Whether Cooper DeJean plays corner or safety he needs to end up in Seattle at 16.

DB Cooper in Seattle is just too fitting.

I question his professionalism. Seems like the type of guy who might disappear once he gets some money.

he might hijack the locker room too.  Probably a huge distraction on the plane on road trips.

Thanks for tearing yourself away from listening to the new Taylor Swift album on repeat to share that joke with us. I know it couldn't have been easy for you.

I just listened to The Ringer Draft Show's live rd 1 mock (which was a blast) and Mims and Murphy went in the late teens, Barton got snagged at 24, so they had GB grab DeJean at 25.

One thing I like about Barton and Cooper is they described Barton as "solving your OL problem, whatever it is" and I think Cooper is a similar player for DBs - wherever the weak spot is, he can probably be competent-or-better in that spot.

or the board blows cookies at 88/91 and we pick Wright at that point with the idea that you develop him behind the other two.

Unrelated, I find MLF's comments about Dillon's potential outside of basic handoff reception to be interesting.

That's really not that impressive of a group either tbqh. There's nothing special about Ollie Gordon. What separates Ollie Gordon from someone like Braelon Allen? Honest question. I'm also not sure what separates Hampton and Judkins from the likes of Estime and Benson. Henderson is a horse and probably the most talented back of both classes but he can't stay on the field. Edwards and Ott are of high intrigue but we need to see more (Edwards needs a massive rebound as RB1). Jeanty is a nothing burger tbh like 95% of Boise State RBs. Etienne I won't speak on since I'm not sure he's "Packer people" but the rest I'm not sure about so I have no opinion.

Basically, I'm not waiting on a what could be from a class that I'm really not sold on. Just take the value where it's at in 2024 if it's there. I'm don't have the same disdain for this class as you do.

As far as OL goes, if I was looking for a guy I might trade up to around 15-18 for, it's definitely Olumuyiwa Fashanu. Other than Alt being #1 there isn't much consensus how the other OT stack up, but for me he's the #2 in the class. I'm seeing him in a good number of mocks 18-22.

DeJean is the only other guy I might be excited for a move up to get but wouldn't want to move up as far.
