THE DUKE
This is a bad idea. A better solution would be adding a 2nd bye week and making sure everyone who is on TNF is coming off that 2nd bye week. That'd also extend the NFL regular season one more week. More ratings, more ad revenue, same number of games, more rest for the players, literally every one wins. fluhartz
this is stupid.. actually flexing in general is. I get it for TV... but say you bought tickets in advance and made plans, bought hotel rooms and then they change everything two weeks early.. you're screwed.. the NFL doesn't think about the common people that have lives and save up for this kind of stuff... It's a joke.

How is this good for the fans? If you booked a vacation to see a game, it might get moved and you're SOL. It's a joke. There is actually a 28 day requirement to flex a game from Thursday to Sunday and vise versa. Two weeks was the requirement for Sunday to Sunday night. I don’t remember if there is one for Sunday to Monday. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/05/23/28-day-notice-period-will-make-tnf-flexing-more-rare-but-still-not-ok/

Yup..I go to one game a year, but luckily I live within a couple hours of stadiums so there's no flight or hotel to worry about... but even still, between families and work, if that game gets flexed to a Thursday we'll probably have to miss out. Cash and tv numbers are all that really matters to the NFL, actual fans (and player health) are always an afterthought Edited May 24, 2023 by adamq
