However, he had one of his worst years in his career arguably last season, going just 22-for-28 on field goals (77.8%). The move also clears up $3.75M in cap room after June 1st. Curiously, though, they currently have no immediate replacement on their roster. AkronsWitness Posted May 24 Share Posted May 24 He seemed to have declined a bit with his accuracy in the past few years. Sucks to lose a guy who was on the team for so long. We picked him up quickly Essentially he was 22nd, 19th and 18th in the league in accuracy the past 3 years among Kickers but was the 11th highest paid kicker = cut. From 2015-2019 he was top 10 but has seemingly fell off in recent years. Him and Fangio got into screaming matches on the sidelines a bunch because he wouldnt let him attempt a FG on certain occasions. The outspokenness for a Kicker has rubbed a few people the wrong way more than one time, which Im sure is one of the reasons he was released combined with his recent accuracy issues. I think the bigger reason the jags made the kicker change was for a Bigger Leg. Last couple years are kickers weren't guys u can really depend on from distance.
