Free agent SS Tony Jefferson retires to become Ravens scout

Jefferson had a nice start to his career in Arizona, but an ACL tear in 2019 while a member of the Ravens derailed it. While he did appear in nine contests last season for the Giants, it was clear his best days of football were behind him. He ends his career with 492 tackles, 4 interceptions, 9.5 sacks, and 4 recovered fumbles in 113 career games (starting 67).

He was valuable for us last year. Wink's defense plays in sub packages more than other defense, so he played a decent amount as the 3rd safety. It played very smart and tough. I was honestly hoping there was a chance he'd come back to the Giants at some point this year, but good for him joining the front office of where he played a decent chunk of his ball.
