I assumed there wouldn't be a thread because it's so obviously the Jaguars.

I'm a Titans fan, and they've owned the division (hell, even last year it took a miraculous winning streak from the Jags and a miraculous losing streak for the Titans), and they very well could still beat out the Jags and win the division.

However, I think the Titans need some luck to really stand a chance.  First of all, the injuries have to stop.  And I think at this point, it's looking like Vrabel's traditional blue-collar hard-nosed we're-gonna-be-the-toughest-hardest-working-team approach is the culprit, and that's not gone anywhere.  But let's say, hypothetically, that it does, and the Titans can be close to full strength late in the season.

They still need to see significant growth from Treylon Burks, Chig Okonkwo, and Kyle Phillips to have a competent receiver group.  I think that's a reasonable expectation.  We would also need to see the offensive linemen mostly break well.  I think the biggest question marks in the group are Brewer and Dillard, but it's reasonable to expect them to play at a mediocre level.

Even more so, they need the older players that have been their go-tos in the past to not drop off, or at least not hugely (Henry, Byard, Tannehill, and Autry are the big four here).  Also a reasonable expectation.

All that said, even though none of those things are unreasonable expectations, expecting all of them to break the Titans' way probably is unreasonable.  But hey, stranger things have happened.

Unfortunately think it’s the Jags to lose but I do think the Titans may keep it surprisingly close.

Side note but it’s kinda insane how close the Titans were to overachieving again last year. If they didn’t turn into a complete mess in the 4th quarter of games, they would’ve easily been in the playoffs again.

On paper, the Titans should never be as competitive as they are year after year.

Vrabel is amazing at getting guys to just do their jobs.

Yea Vrabel knows how to draw blood from a stone if he has to. They should be better if Henry and Tannehill are healthy. I still think its ours to lose

Indy and Houston aren't quite there yet.

None of the South teams--AFC or NFC--are.

Last year Jacksonville won this division because they were the only team with a QB.  Little else, but certainly a QB.

All three other teams have added a QB, two of them starters.  None rate to be as good as Trevor Lawrence (this year, at the very least) but all should narrow this gap.

For all the usual reasons Houston will win this division, although not by much.  Tennessee is a slight favorite to win the dogfight for second.
