Best Power Back of All-Time?

For the purposes of the poll, this is moreso guys who heavily leaned on their power. Guys like Adrian Peterson, Walter Payton, Jim Brown, etc could all run guys over, but they were incredibly well-rounded and could just as easily juke you out of your shoes.

Straight one on one hardest most intimidating rushers to take down and tackle, I would say these guys in this order.  One cannot really discount speed or being agile, and usually the bigger they are with that speed the harder they are to take down.

Adrian Peterson
Jim Brown
Eddie George
Derrick Henry
Earl Campbell
Jamal Lewis
Herschel Walker
Marshawn Lynch
Steven Jackson
Jerome Bettis
Cory Dillon
Terrell Davis
Brandon Jacobs
Mike Alstott
Leroy Hoard

Christian Okoye and Mike Alstott honorable mentions for me

If we're focusing solely on power, Okoye has a chance to be the best answer.

Obviously Campbell has to be considered.

Okoye "the Nigerian nightmare" had a short career and had shoulder pads that made him look like a monster but if you were too young to see him live you should check out highlights.

Pretty sure he went on to do bigger and better things iirc.

I forgot about Alstott, will have to add him, good call, he is worth a mention.  Still most of his running style where those pads, that did help him and made it difficult to get ahold of him.

William Andrews played for the Falcons in the early 80s and was an absolute beast but unfortunately shredded his knee and is now a footnote.

Paul "Dr Z" Zimmerman was big fan of Marion Motley.

I'd say Earl Campbell might be the best hammer ever; that franchise has had a few though - The Tyler Rose, Eddie George, Derrick Henry.

I wouldn’t classify AD as a power back. Don’t get me wrong, he was a race horse, but I think he’d rather go around you than through you. Guys like Alstott and Jamal Lewis wanted to inflict pain.

I think to pigeon-hole him a power back would be selling him short, but he was one of the most powerful runners too. He would truck through guys routinely and was always one of the leaders in broken tackles every year.

William Gay would like a word with you.

AP most certainly ran through people, but he was so well-rounded as a runner that calling him a power back doesn't really suit him, moreso "can-do-literally-everything-from-breaking-your-ankles-to-putting-a-hole-in-your-chest back".
