Richardson threw an interception in his preseason debut against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday but after the game Steichen credited the rookie for his "great poise" and took the blame for the pick, saying, "we've got to do a better job communicating on that one." NYRaider
It'll definitely be a mixed bag, IMO. He'll struggle with consistency but will make enough big throws / have enough explosive runs to keep the fanbase excited.

Soko
I think we’re going to see a rookie Fields situation. Not expecting pretty things. At least the kid has Pittman/Pierce to throw to, though.
Forge
Getting a super raw QB prospect as many reps as possible as soon as possible. It's so crazy, it may just work out eventually

MWil23
My hope is that they finish really bad but not bad enough where they pick in the Top 5 for the next 10+ years so I can watch all the fake Colts fans here in Ohio that were wretched human beings to us Browns and Bengals fans since 1999 feel bad.
BobbyPhil1781
Dude is far too raw of a prospect to start immediately. Good luck to him! Hopefully it doesn't destroy his psyche if he doesn't succeed especially if JT isn't going to play. This could get ugly. At least he can run though. Guessing that will be done often. Im not rooting against the young man on a personal level but if there are 2 franchises that need a good old fashioned QB bust that sets their franchise back--it is Indy and Green Bay......and Pittsburgh. Their fans need to be humbled. 😂 Edited August 15, 2023 by AkronsWitness

Unless you have an offensive line that is like the Texans in the early 2000s, I generally support starting the young guy out right away. Having that type of line creates awful habits and screws your internal clock as a QB so it actually messes with your development at the position. You have to put in real reps in real games. No substitute for real action. I supported starting Trey Lance immediately in 2021 and he may have been even more raw. If playing badly / performing badly is what hurts him mentally, you have the wrong dude anyway. I just think you have to play to get better.
